Help! Domain Expired and Cant Access Email

So I've done goofed and let my domain expire - I purely use it for an email.

I'm still getting a few emails through but definitely getting rejection notices from my friends and work emails.

It was registered with namecheap and I cannot for the life of me remember the password for my namecheap account to get back in to reset password.
I've tried to live chat them and they said there's no way around it and I'm stuffed.

So - the question is, am I really stuffed? If I have to go through and change over the emails for my accounts it's going to be a major headache….

Even if someone else has got my domain now, they dont have access to my email right?

edit* after 80 minutes of live chat i was able to get my login email changed… talk about aging.

  • Does namecheap send you an email with the domainkey when you registered?

Check your old emails and if they do, you can do a transfer

  • Has the domain been renewed?

Yes, the new owner could forward all emails to one address.

    https://ap.www.namecheap.com/ResetPassword

One of those options will get you in easily

    • yeap..cept the email i used to sign for the namecheap account belongs on the expired domain fml

Literally been on live chat arguing my case for 40+ minutes now

      • So you can't create a new account an register the domain again?

Is it in some weird state?

        • thanks got there now holy moly
80 + minutes of live chat - managed to find an old paypal receipt and reset my password thank god!

I think I've aged about 10 years inside from the stress of thinking about going through and changing my email…

  • Yeah, we keep a vigilant eye on our Domains. People get confused with the email addresses I give them but when I explain about domains, and addresses, they like the idea. I would have to have mine lapse.
