More than 1 fan on motherboard

I have a MSI B450i motherboard and Thermaltake Core V1 case. I have connected the cpu fan and system fan on the motherboard but would also like to connect 2x 80mm exhaust fans as well. How would I go about this as the motherboard only has room for 2 fans?

Do I need a splitter?

You can buy a cheap fan hub. They cost under 10.

Otherwise can connect fans directly to power supply via molex adapter, but the fan will spin at a fixed constant RPM and you cannot control the speed using thermal sensor.

    • Great! How/where do you install it?

      • Same concept as a USB Hub. Plug the hub itself into a 4-pin fan header. Plug the case fan(s) into the hub. Place the hub anywhere inside your case, use some double sided tape that is provided or velcro to hold in place if desired.

        • Plug the hub itself into a 4-pin fan header.

          Or SATA

@spackbace: The SATA powers it while the fan header gives speed info via PWM.

Plug the hub itself into a 4-pin fan header

Typically that would be the CPU fan header.

    • Great thanks!

So I can control the speed of fans with a thermal sensor? Do I do that through the msi application?

      • yeah think it's called MSI command centre or something like that. You can tweak your fan curves and change how they ramp up with system temps
