Remote Ceiling Lights? (Not Smart)

Hi

This is a weird one. I am usually using smart lights for lighting.

My elderly mother wants a remote controlled light for her room so she doesn't have to put up and down all the time.
She hasn't got a smart phone or anything like that so I am trying to find a "remote" controlled light. E-bay only gives Chinese specials which look like they are not safe. I bought one and it looks like it will fall a part pretty quick. I was looking for AUS certified stuff (for insurance compliance).

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

EDIT: Went with the Hue switch as suggested below.

Some of the smart globe ranges actually use a tech called Zigbee, so they can be used as relatively dumb, remote controlled globes.

What you can do, is directly pair the globes with the switch and they talk directly to each other.

I personally use the Philips Hue range, which you'll often find listed on here. They work great.

Here's a link that describes how they work: You Can Use Philips Hue Bulbs without a Hub

    • Thanks.

    • Went with this and works good :)

If shes still in her own place coming into summer disregard if she's in care.
Put ceiling fans in with ebay 20% off deals cheaper than bunnings. TGG also sell them

    • I was looking into those fans. Might be a plan if the other stuff doesn't pan out.

    • Do you know if it can, remotely, switched from Summer to Winter mode?

      • I bought Mercator like this https://www.mercator.com.au/product/caprice-1200-ceiling-fan… The remote is an add on for their products so the switch has to be manually done for it to reverse.
Other brands like the Aldi full dedicated remote you'd have to check with the manufacturer.

        • Thanks. We have a warehouse we converted and the ceiling is a loooooong way from the floor. At the moment we have to get a very long ladder to change from winter to summer, so we usually don't bother. In winter we just put the fan on very slow to push the warm air back down. If we do replace the cost of installation is going to be, a lot, more than the unit.
