One of the car shows (not sure if it was Fifth Gear or Top Gear) did an experiment on auto car wash versus hand car wash and it showed that the hand car wash method gave more surface swirls in the long run.
Are we talking two bucket foam soaked car wash? I'm a lazy bugger but I also like my stuff pristine so this would be a fantastic revelation for me.
Not based on my experience… if you use the correct method, hand wash is far superior. The chemicals used by auto washes are very harsh.
Without knowing what kind of auto wash, the comparison is useless. You can have contact systems that roll various materials on the car surface to wipe off dirt or you can have contactless systems that try to make up for the lack of contact by using harsh surfunctants as you suggest. The method will make a big difference to both the amount of dirt removed and the amount of scratches.

If you could read above i clearly mentioned that i just signed up for this deal. I am not the owner or affiliate with it.This is not a standard deal for every MCW. At the moment it shows for kingsbury/Richmond. Usual outside wash is $20 per wash for sedan and $25 per wash for 4WD. This deal gives you unlimited washes for a month for just $30/Month.
Yes they wash your in a tunnel based auto car wash using microfibres and wipe down by hand with chamois.
Magic HAND CW has a good reputation though.
Nothing personal but this is a deals website so I'm simply commenting so others are aware that I don't think it's an "amazing deal" and if they look at their local scene they may very well find the same deal or better.

Is magic hand wash services done by actual people or automatic car wash? If done by actual people, it's actually quite a good deal.

Sure, Oasis Car Wash has been offering $30 for years and there's at least 2 others I've seen that offer a similar price.
Only reason I asked was because op said "amazing deal" which is pretty hyperbole. Apologies if the OP was offended.

They used to have many more branches but they split off into something else now, I forgot what it's called but a lot of their old locations are no longer called Oasis and the remaining Oasis ones don't have the same deals they used to. I forgot what the new place is called because honestly I don't take too much notice and only go once a month. One of the old re-named places I think is in Beenleigh near the Mcdonalds at the round about. I think last time I went in August to the rebranded place they were advertising $32p/m unlimited wash.

Very good deal. Unfortunately a bit far from my place
signed up for the yearly including monthly superior about two months ago. Paying for a yearly membership saves you 2 months of "membership fees". Been using it almost every week so pretty good value, and never really had to wait long to use the wash club.
Also $50/month including interior is pricing for SUV/4wd. Sedans and wagons is $40/month…
Although it is great value, I agree with @kimlo that its technically not a deal as it is standard pricing.This is ozbargain and standard price can be a bargain. For example if I start a car washing business and make my standard price $10 a month, then it’s a bargain.
A bargain by definition is a thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected.
Please keep the bargains coming. I’m upset this isn’t in Perth.
