Ducted Air Conditioning

I have a 2 bedroom unit that will allow ducted air conditioning . What does it mean by zones?
How much will it cost? Is it comparable with split air con installed in 2 bedrooms. Any suggestion on brands and installers. Western Sydney

  • Have you try to contact a installer and ask for options, or quote?
Its all depend on the size of the room, etc.

'Zoning' refers to switchable flaps to block or allow air through some ducts, say if you didn't want to cool bedrooms when you're not using them. Not really as useful on small houses like yours, more for 4br+ with many living areas etc.

  • I spoke to 2 and they didn’t install in area. But I should have asked them about the zones

For a 2 bedroom unit I wouldn’t worry about zones. Ducted is much nice than reverse cycle.

Are you sure a unit can fit ducted? You need a big roof cavity for that to work, around 1 metre. Most units don't have that.

    • Can they work in floor ducting?

  • Roof is high enough neighbour has ducted. Thanks for your response some people get slammed for their post. I slipped though the crack and got nice comments
