Looks like a good deal, must be the pre-Christmas deals, but everywhere else has for $1299 or more.
I am also looking for the Sony FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS but will wait for frenzy deals, so fingers crossed.

Why this is a good deal? You can get an A7 or a72 with less money..
A7 and A7m2 while full frame are older. A6100 will have better autofocus, has 4K video, cheaper lenses, and slightly more portable. The sensor in the APC 6100 while smaller is newer. The A7 will still be better in low light but that gap is nowhere near as great as if comparing to the newer A7m3.
So really depends on the type of photography and videography you are interested in as to which is the better camera.
Haha, I wish, the A7 iii is also on sale, but nothing on the mark II.

A6400 is better. Mag Alloy body, weather sealing and a few more video options. On sale it's the same price as A6100 which is why retailers aren't bothering that much on this model.
The A6400 body only is available from Video Pro ebay store for $1105.60 + delivery… that's a better deal. In fact this same store has the A6400 for $1199… may as well spend the extra $4.
A6400 vs A6100, higher resolution viewfinder, weather sealed magnesium body, some extra picture profiles (better dynamic range) in video recording.
If those things aren't important to you the A6100 is fine, however only if it's reasonably cheaper than the A6400.

I doubt it, a6600 is released, so a6400 is 2 generations old
A6400 is same generation as the A6100 and A6600, it was released in March this year, versus October this year for the A6100 and A6600.
A6000 -> A6100
A6300 -> A6400
A6500 -> A6600The features are exactly the same, same processor, same sensor. The A6600 has IBIS (body stabilisation) over and above the A6400, eye autofocus in video, and a newer battery type, but omits the flash.
A6400 pricing error? Maybe, but it is a slightly older model that could be reduced from RRP, whereas the new cameras are more or less selling at RRP (except for this deal).

@aeon: Not pricing error, just happens to have 20% discount code which is most of the time for Video Pro :-) The usual price of $1,382.00 has been there for a while. Look at sales history.
@Buy2Much: Yeah, the Video Pro one was fine (due to 20% discount), was more considering the price of the 6400 on the paramatta cameras site. Have been pondering the VideoPro purchase :)
