AIA Vitality 10/2019 Changes

What are everyone's thoughts on the upcoming changes?

The new providers for the shopping rewards and active rewards are nice, but it's a bit shit that they're lowering the amount of shopping rewards and that you now need to get a health check to get any shopping rewards. I personally don't feel comfortable giving actual health data to an insurance company so will probably opt out.

  • Very happy about SIA being included in the flights, sucks nothing for Africa/Americas though and the 1 international cashback a year really limits the potential. Still more useful than just VA though.

Amazon & Uber $$ also great, I can just add the credit to my account. No need to hold onto $5 vouchers… Will stop bothering to go to Woolworths for Opal topups too.

Endota vouchers didn't interest me at 40% anyway; was either 50% or forget about it so the 30% is meh

Definitely, write and complain to them. The more people who complain, the greater the chance that this policy could be changed.

  • Hi,
Nominate this for an ACA Shonky Award:

  • Total reduction $150 and mandatory reporting is BS.

  • The health data is actually very basic info, not a great deal of concern for me. Flight rewards is great but I hope they don’t restrict to certain flights.

  • What sort of cashback are you getting for flight?

    • Up to 50% depending membership tier.

      • I think it also excludes taxes.

  • I know it's been asked before, but what insurances are everyone currently using to access AIA Vitality and how much is it costing you annually?

    • health insurance ~100/month

      • Oh yea which health insurance?

        • +1

          • @nubix: thanks for that, that looks really good!
man I am on life insurance already to get the AIA Vitality, thats another 35 a month. I wonder if I can cancel it.

  • I left AIA Vitality when they removed Qantas from the flight benefit and replaced it with a rather poor Virgin flight benefit. I don't hate Virgin it's just that the lowest promo fares were always excluded from the flight benefit discount. Does AIA still restrict the discount on promo flights or has that changed?
