Recent Cashrewards or ShopBack Discount/Bonus (around August) for Fishpond?

I can only go back 20 pages on ozbargain history now!? Does anyone remember a cashrewards or shopback bonus if you purchased from fishpond? It was some time around August and I'm trying to find the thread so I can check the conditions.

There was some kind of discount or bonus payment which made it worthwhile purchasing some books from them. One book arrived damaged, so I returned it for a replacement. Now they claim there's an error in the listing preventing them from obtaining a replacement. (Which is absolute nonsense - the book is available literally every other online bookstore - they just don't want to honor the price!)

So I'll probably lose the discount/bonus too! I purchased from Fishpond against my better judgement after reading copious amount of negative online reviews about them, due to the discount/bonus. Now it's going to cost me MORE than if I'd just bought them at full price anywhere else. Dishonest scumbags!

      Thanks. Sorry, I forgot about this. Yeah, they both told me it wasn't them. I don't know for certain now, but I think what happened was, I was about to purchase books through some Amazon deal, when I noticed Fishpond had some kind of cashback or discount for a minimum purchase amount on your first order - which was incentive to buy a few books from them.

      They took weeks to arrive, and one arrived damaged which I returned, selecting their 'replacement' option instead of 'refund' (which their systems try to bias you towards)…

      Several weeks passed without a peep out of them. I had no idea if they'd received the book back, nothing was updated on the site except 'order in process', no contact, etc. So I contacted them, explained the history, gave the order number, and asked is my book still coming?

      They emailed back they 'had difficulty obtaining a replacement because something about the book ID was incorrect so they couldn't obtain it', and: 'we'll refund your credit card in a few days'… This is complete NONSENSE. The book was listed by its '978…' ISBN number, that number was on the book that arrived, that number also matches literally dozens of other websites like Amazon, booktopia, ebay, booko, abebooks, etc., AND simply entering the title instead brings it up everywhere too!

      But that's not all… A few days later, I go to their site to find:

      a) the book I returned is now listed for sale at a discount with a note that it's damaged
      b) the original listing is still available to purchase!

      So they obviously decided I'd 'cost them money', so choose to 'punish' me by not providing a replacement at the same price - to discourage me from buying again, when it was their hopeless packers that damaged the book in the first place (other books and box were fine).

      And I just bet if I got a friend to order the same book, it would turn up no problem. (They wouldn't send the damaged one because it's now listed separately at a discount. And the fact it's the same book would probably escape their attention due to the volume of items they sell.)

      I read a LOT of negatives about them online immediately after placing that first order. But I waited and hoped. Well, Fishpond are an awful business. Huge delays, zero communication, they ignore their own systems, and punish (LOL) 'problem' (!?) customers.

      I'm yet to check if they've actually refunded. But from the many negatives online, apparently that's their next common 'failure': promising refunds which never arrive, which is why I requested a replacement - I hoped to spare myself that step [sigh!].
