Replacement for Pocket Weather app shutting down

Hi everyone

When I clicked in to check the weather on my android pocket weather app, I noticed a msg saying it was being shutdown end of this year. I've been using this app for ages (thanks to ozbargain recommendation) and its been great.

Can anyone recommend a good alternate weather app that sources data from BOM, is easy to use and doesn't look crap

Dont mind paying for a good app as I've got plenty of play credit

      Unfortunately doesn't use BOM data.

          Are you sure? According to their website (https://www.meetcarrot.com/weather/), BOM isn't listed: "Switch between the default weather provider, Dark Sky, and sources like ClimaCell and MeteoGroup to get a better handle on your forecast. *Requires Premium Club membership."

          If so, I would consider purchasing Carrot (I'm using the free version on Android)

            @bdl: Yeah it was added a few months ago. I think Carrot has a tie-in with Willy Weather and uses that as the source (Willy weather uses BOM data).

            Premium Club members can also use AccuWeather, ClimaCell, Foreca, MeteoGroup, Aeris Weather, or WillyWeather as alternate data sources

    The BOM actually have their own app now which is pretty nice.

    Aus Weather Australia. It's not as slick as Pocket was but it looks OK and is packed with (weather) data.

    long time ago i was using weather and clock app on my android, it is showing weather forecast and current time.
    but somehow the time is not accurate (lagging). anyone know one which works perfect? (the clock in particular)

    Willy Weather is great and the best replacement for pocket weather that I have found.

      No Widget though.
      And no link to the BOM Radar that I can find.

      Weatherzone is looking like the closest replacement to me.

        If you hit the hamburger button and go to "Maps", there's map data there… You can adjust using the layers button bottom right corner of screen

    Weather Underground used to be my Go To but now it's a little screwy with the temps. Still one of my faves

    Windy is pretty cool and very detailed. Especially for wind. Maybe not the simplest app for regular forecasts (I usually use the apple app so haven't tried Windy too much tbh), but while in a Japanese typhoon it was great for seeing the progression of the storm and knowing exactly when it had passed by.

    I was also saddened when i found out pocket weather was shutting down.

    apart from the BOM app, they have a beta online version that's not feature rich, but still pretty good.

    You can make an 'app shortcut' with chrome, probably other browsers too.

    Willyweather is pretty good.
    There is another called fish ranger that's really good for lots of different information.

    BOM just updated their app. Even has a simple widget now.

          OK thanks. No sign of the widget on iOS, but that might be coming.
