Is this Dell gaming desktop a good deal?

I saw a brand new dell from the official store for $1295.2 after disount.

i7 9700
16gb Ram
256gb ssd and 1tb hdd
RTX 2060

My main concern is the 2060 will not be enough to handle ray tracing in games over the next 4 years or so. Is this a good deal?

For that price point, I’d consider that a really good deal. In terms of whether or not it will handle ray tracing for the next 4 years, it may be possible assuming you’re playing 1080p (but take that with a grain of salt)

  • I would be wary of Dell, the 'gaming' pc motherboard can be unknown, and on mine is locked to a small number of compatible ram sticks, all at low speeds. Something like XMP profile was permanently diabled, no future fix to enable it…i could be wrong but pretty sure it was that.

If you know what all the specs are and you are happy, I don't see why not. I had Dell monitors I really liked and apart from the RAM issues this PC is ok. If some parts are unknown, i would be maybe looking at something else, maybe one of those Techfast deals? They look pretty good to me, thinking of an upgrade myself :)
