Recommend a Company that does TV Wall Mounting (SE VIC)

So having bought a 65" X95G in the recent sale - it has arrived and needs to be put in it's place.

I previously used a guy I found off the internet who was more than a little dodgy so would like some recommendations.

I was thinking of getting this bracket https://www.selby.com.au/brackets-and-wall-mounts/lcd-led-pl… or will most companies provide their own brackets?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

  • Are you looking to do hidden cabling or anything like that? These brackets are super easy to install yourself, the only but you might need a 2nd set of hands for is attaching the panel to the bracket once it's bolted to the wall.

Definitely hidden cables. Unfortunately I know how easy it is to do, however I am hampered in my decision making by the overlord in my life.

She is worried that if I do it calamity will strike…sigh.

If it magically happens when she is out, does that that count? (and then you have an extra $300 in your pocket to spend on yourself:) )

      • So by her logic, if someone else does it, it excludes the possibility of calamity?

I would be a lot more trusting of a wall mount I did myself than by some dodgy tradie

          • @slow: Although I'm sure there are a lot of competent tradies out there, for a small job like this it is actually more effort to engage someone, set up a time and be there to supervise.

Then there's the possibility of tradies running late, no show, reschedule and god forbid actually mess up the job.

        • Chance of calamity is still the same, she wants to hire someone with insurance so if things go pear shaped we can claim against the tradie

@iampoor: Mate, claiming against a tradie is yet another task that is actually harder than hanging the TV.

            Good luck.

  • I would recommend providing your own suitable bracket for them to install if possible. My installer in Canberra, while good, charged me ~$180 for a bracket which could be found for ~$50 online.

    • Thanks, will definitely keep this in mind!

  • Call Cooper on 0451 281 731 - he did installation for us last year on a few appliances. We didn't get the TV mounted but he mentioned he also does that.

    • Thanks for the recommendation, will give him a call.

buy your bracket from here, ask them for a recommendation

i disagree, do not ask them for a recommendation or any advice ever

whilst i continue to order and shop there (in silence), i gotta say i've never come across more pathetic fear mongering and desperate upsellers than i have at Selby

        Geez.. bit excessive

        • The kind of things their staff have said to their customers:

"oooh mate i'd be careful buying that cable if i were you"
"mate i'd be buying the gold plated version of that"

"haha good luck with those mate"

        Completely agree.
Been shopping with them for prob 8yrs or more. Everything is great apart from some of their staff are flogs. Not all. But the ones that are/were, are next level.

One of the last visits, was doing slow detailed research on CHEAPEST ceiling speakers. Some bro comes up, and asks what I'm looking for. I said cheap n nasty multi room audio. Their 8 speaker complete packs from $250.

He says they're turd, buy krix. I chuckled & agreed at the difference, but cheapest krix was 10x the price. He didn't blink, repeating his pitch. I made it crystal clear, I was there with $300, and can't leave with one krix speaker, told him I don't want his help. He repeated his pitch, yep. I looked him in his eyes, told him "go away". He huffed pfft, with a smart arse look on his face, and finally left.

    • Thanks, I was going to buy from Selby's based on past experience.

I buy my stuff from there all the time. I've never interacted with them though. Their brackets are cheap and reliable.

  • Did you end up getting the TV mounted with hidden cables? What did this set you back?
