I'm after a GoPro Hero 8 and it needs to be fro JB HiFi (because I have vouchers I want to use). I know it just came out and they won't budge on price. So how long until I can haggle a bit? RRP is $599, I want to pay $550 (or less).

Thanks brendanm, somewhat humuourous but not very helpful. I'm asking if there's a known reasonable time to wait since GoPro always releases new models at the same time and they've gone through this cycle with vendors for many years.
I think they might be alluding to the fact that unless we are from the future that your guess is as good as ours.
I might have worded things badly. It's more about JB Hifi, do they have a policy on not discounting new products, or is it whatever the salesman thinks at the time?
@eDust: Yes, they have this policy that if customers try to haggle on a new release within T=(x+Y2)×pi/¥>¿60, the customer will be banned from store and reported to the God's.
What do you have to lose by asking them?
My work mate got it for $450 yesterday by matching the discount offered by GoPro. He called up first to tell them and they matched it over the phone. Top Ryde JB Hifi. If you don't have the voucher, get someone to email their one to you - even one that's used.
Edit: I haggled the Max down to $720 but I think I could have gotten more off after I helped my work mate bargain his down.
