Price matching at Bunnings

Does anyone know how their price guarantee works? I'm wondering if there's any point in even trying to get them to pricematch, as a lot of their stuff is their own brand, so of course you can't find a price elsewhere.

In particular, I'm wanting to get some tiles, paint, taps etc

I would imagine tiles are so individual that I won't find the exact style/brand etc elsewhere, and I think they have their own range of paint.

I was in there looking at tiles today, and even their cheapest range is not that good a deal - still works out to over $10m2 whereas in some of the specialist tile shops I've been looking in you can pay this price for better quality ones that are on sale.

Does anyone have any experiences with this?
I would probably prefer to shop around and get items elsewhere, but we have some gift cards to use up from Bunnings so I'd like to use them if I can. Of course this doesn't mean I don't care about getting a good deal with what I use them on.

Any helpful ideas?

  • You can compare price at reselleratings, a professional one.

  • There is a 10% price beat @ bunnings(that is if it is the same product)
I guess you could buy paint(branded ones)

  • Our local one is very difficult to get a price match with. Balk at the slightest thing they can find and seem to enjoy doing it.
Another Bunnings nearby is more sensible and will do it for basically the same item.
It all depends on the manager.

I worked there for about 4 years and price matching is pretty easy, there was a rule that existed where if the item was less than $20 do it without question, don't even bother to check. They will be hesitant to beat anything you find online (they might do it if it's in AUD but they'll add shipping costs on too).

The thing about Bunnings is managers will say yes to almost anything. If the person on the register/at the counter is hesitant or says no, just ask for a manager and they'll probably do it (as long as it isn't a massive difference).

But your right, for most stuff they use their own brands and they WILL NOT beat if it's a different brand/model
