    Kiama
    Bowral
    Blue Mountains
    Jenolan Caves
Manly by ferry (do they still have Sunday Funday?)
    Hunter Valley
Featherdale Wildlife Park - I prefer this instead of Taronga for visitors
Canberra - AIS, Cockington Green, Questacon, Parliament and the Lake

Manly by ferry (do they still have Sunday Funday?)

Public transport is capped at $2.80 on Sundays so I believe so.

    • all sounds good, except for canberra, that place is boring as fk

    Take them to Melbourne.

Still some discounted tickets on other dates.

Which country are they coming from (to differentiate between Sydney attractions and similar / better in their home location)?
What specific interests do they have (arts, performance, music, sights)?

      may be Japan…

      • +1

Is that where they are from, or what they are interested in?

        • +6

Its because one of the OP posts indicate his brother living in Japan. But this OP has done similar things in the past. Ask question and not even a thank you comment. So dont expect any answer

Fish market, city Botanical garden, Auburn botanical garden, Flemington market on Saturday, China Town, Star city,Parramatta park with it's garden, Bondi beach and it's coastal walk, The rocks.

    • +5

Skip the fish market…it's pretty poo…especially if they are from Japan…

  • DFO Homebush if they are into shopping

    • +6

for a better experience outlet at Drummoyne is much better.. if you don't like the shops at least you can enjoy the water views

Based on my observations, happiness is highest in tourists leaving Chemist Warehouse with full bags. They love it.

    • +1

So do the owners of Chemist Warehouse - they desperately want to be the Bunnings of Pharmacy.

    • only applies to tourist from China

  • Punchbowl, Mount Druitt, Bankstown

    • U forgot Auburn.

      • Will definately go auburn for food and auburn botanical garden.

Prepare your bull bar & dash cam.

Wouldn't you have a better idea of what they like and want to see? Is it more museums or more greyhound racing?

    • I said the same thing 3 hours ago; OP not responding so far.

BTW, out of luck with the dogs; Dapto is closing.

      • I said the same thing 3 hours ago

I didn't think I read that, but I do remember reading the "Japan" response to your comment, so I must have!
Consider it the sincerest form of flattery.

    • I am looking for places with waterfalls, views, beach rather than food & shopping places.

      • +3

        So Queensland then?

      • In that case, go to the Royal National Park which should cover all of the above.

Thank you all. keep posting the ideas. I appreciate. Dont be sad if i missed saying thanks to you.

  • Wentworth Falls. Do the track walk loop.

Catch the train across to Milsons point, walk across the bridge, have lunch at the finger wharf.

All this is dependant on what interests them…

  • Audley in Royal National Park + surrounding bush walks. Great for byo picnics.
    Kur-ring-gai national park bushwalks
Central coast - choose any beach
Rapid waters - for thrill seeking water rides
Palm beach - tip of northern beaches

  • depends where your parent are coming from and what they enjoy.

  • Postman's Cruise, Hawkesbury River, Mon to Fri. Takes over 3 hours, includes morning tea and lunch.

  • Several Must dos in Sydney

    1. Do the Manly ferry ride and Also the Parramatta River cat on a different day. Absolutely the best views of sydney

    2. Take a trip to the Blue mountains to your favourite Spot. The 3 Sisters and Leura falls can all be done on the same day

    3. Taronga Zoo of course not only for the animals but also for the views

    4. Paddys markets, China town and Darling harbour all in one day

    5. Hyde Park and the Anzac memorial.

    6. Bike ride or drive around Centennial park and stop at the duck pond to feed the ducks and grab a feed at the Spruce Goose van there

For money saving get yourself an entertainment book for the regions you would be visiting.
Why limit yourself to Sydney, especially if you drive.
The Australian reptile park near Gosford is worth the drive and they get to see the animals, arachnid’s, marsupials and reptiles that make this place unique. The people who work here are very good and the last time I took my parents this was the place they spoke about most.
If your parents still like an adrenaline thrill then Glenworth Valley on the Central Coast does Quad Biking, Abseiling, Horse riding and kayaking in beautiful peaceful surroundings.
At Berowra Waters down the gorge there is Waterbiew restaurant who do a good seafood buffet on the weekends.
The Port Stephens area is nice too and less crowded then the beaches around Sydney and they do good dolphin watching cruises.
If they like a ripple, then the Hunter Valley for a long lazy lunch and I think you can get a wine tour from Sydney as a day trip.
Even though you do not want to tread the beaten tourist path of the Harbour bridge, Opera house etc… these shouldn’t be missed for first tome visitors.
I found the best way of seeing all these with ease was the hop-on hop-off bus and all can be done in one day.
Don’t pay for a Captain Cook cruise on the Harbor as a trip on the Manly ferry shows the sights of the harbour from the water.
I hope they enjoy their time in this great country and take away some amazing memories.
