Help deciding between 3 different TVs

Hi guys

I have a $500 JB-HiFi giftcard from last month's Telstra SIM only deal

Looking at the following 3 TVs:

https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-series-8-ru8000-5…

https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lg-55um7400pta-um74-serie…

https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hisense-55r7-series-7-55-…

I assumed that the Samsung would be top choice, but the rep said that the Hisense would be the best bang for my buck.

What do you guys think?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Will be gaming on the PS4 every now and again. Cheers

  • The LG.

    • Thank you. Any particular reason why? I notice that it is only 100hz whereas the other two are 200hz.

  • LG 55SM8100PTA $995

  • Wait for the Black Friday sale.

    • Hypothetically which one would you choose come Black Friday?

      • Whichever is cheapest. There's not going to be much difference between them if they aren't side by side.

    • What sort of sale do you anticipate happening for TV’s?

  • Samsung.

Darker blacks, higher brightness and a cooler remote

  • I’ve been looking at the Hisenses personally, but make sure whichever one you choose you get them to price match VP or anywhere that might be $100 cheaper at the time

Samsung. Nothing beats pressing the power on button on ur remote and the TV is ON within seconds. And the samsung menu's make sense.

I have that same Hisense TV you're considering..sure the colours are vibrant and best bang for buck 4K BUT the power on time is like 30 seconds…and the menu is hideous and extremely frustrating to navigate.

If i had my time again, i'd buy a samsung over the hisense for those reasons above even if its 15% more expensive.

    Best of luck

Thank you, this was really helpful. From what I understand the Samsung has the lowest input lag as well

      • True about the start up times on the samsungs. My samsung is compatible with freesync (Radeon) but not g-sync.

I have a hisense and i absolutely love it, but the menu system and apps are garbage (i only use it for gaming so it doenst bother me). That Samsung looks very well priced especially with the gift card

    • Which model? R7? I'm in the market for the R6

      • i have a series 7 4k UHD from a few years ago, as far as i am aware the menu system has not changed at all and nor has the terrible app store, it stil; has netflix but if you want anything else on the tv like 9now or similar apps Hisense do not support it, but as i said the screen is amazing and is still going strong from 2016
