    • Cheers, bought from Amazon… Free delivery for me

    • Real mvp. (profanity) eb!

  • Too bad the Switch version isn't that price.
But that's probably because of the 'Switch Tax'.

    • +3

It doesn't exist like that. This is just EB being EB and exploiting the Switch user base.

Really? I bought a Switch a couple of weeks ago and i have been flabbergasted at how expensive the games are, not just at EB. They are incredibly expensive, i could only get a let's go pokemon game - now over 12 months old - for $55 second hand on eBay, that was the best i could find. I also note the same games on Xbox that are on Switch are infinitely cheaper on the former.

Is there some way of buying physical copies of Switch games that is NOT daylight robbery? Am i missing somehting? I'm new to the ecyosystem and it's a genuine question. On Xbox im spoilled with game pass and changing regions to buy games for a fraction of the AU cost so i dont know if it's just relative to that, but from what i have seen thus far the Switch is incredibly expensive everywhere to buy any games physically. Perhaps they are pushing digital idk but it seems way out of whack from what i have seen.

        • Nintendo first party games hold their price due to company policy of maintaining an image of quality and value throughout a generation.

Third party games that received a specific switch release much later than the other systems are, for some reason, holding a premium (Bethesda and Blizzard games for example), but most other releases from publishers such as Sega (sonic titles and Valkyria Chronicles 4 for example) stay uniformly priced in comparison to the other systems.

Instances like this specific title are bizarre and, although there is an initial switch tax on release due to cards being more expensive than discs, old inventory has no justifiable reason to maintain the high price as, technically theses games are making a loss right now on the Xbox and PS4 platforms at this price

@Ninternet: Firstly, thanks for the reply, i do apprecaite it.

Im not sure it's just first party, for example a game i want is katamari damacy reroll, it's nearly 12 months old and also i can't find it for less than $60 or so. Can you find it anywhere cheaper? These are the sort of games that would be about a-third that price on the other two consoles so, yeah, idk, my mind boggles at how expensive even basic indie games on switch are.

The only thing that looks decent to me is you basically have to buy everything digital and wait for it to be on sale, that seems to be the only way i can see to not spend a fortune on Switch games at this time.

I take it you can't do the Xbox thing and switcheroo your region to Argentina for every game purchase and get them new for $20 or so ? LOL i know it's not exactly by the books but the prices are that high you'll take whatever exploit you can find!

            • @Iggemo: People used to do the region swap thing, but Nintendo have blocked payments for other regions unless you have a PayPal account/credit card/eshop card from that region.

Also regarding Katamari, that was a fairly limited physical print only released (to my knowledge) in Japan and North America. Never saw an Australian release and quickly sold out everywhere in the US.

Nintendo tax is real. EB always gonna EB, but Nintendo has taken eveyone for a ride since 1997.

  • Nice find… thanks for the share….grabbed the one from Amazon.

  • Thanks! Bought one. Been watching FB Marketplace for one

  • Why is this so expensive on PC?

  • Do you think JB Hi-Fi will price match?

    • You can try. There's no DLC code that comes with it.

    • I just got this and also matched horizon complete from big W, JB happy to price match both

  • anyone know what the difference between the preowned version for ps4? is it worth the saving of $5? i assuming theres a DLC code?

    • Not sure but I think the DLC code might have been used if your buying preowned.

  • Whats the story mode like in this,I need something more than just fighting as I mostly play Sp.

  • Just picked mine up. Got the steelbook edition

    • Was it just luck on a pre used copy? Or did you pay a bit extra? I'd love a steel book edition

      • Pure luck I say. Didn’t pay anything extra

  • Amazon have price matched the PS4 version but not the Xbox One version =/
