Samsung TV - Powerland BETTA Electrical 5 Year Warranty

Hi all,

As of late, with all the deals that are running on Ebay, I recently jumped on a deal for a 75" samsung TV advertised through powerland. The deal was showing "5 YEAR WARRANTY" through betta electrical - part of the reason I went for the deal. After applying for this, it turns out it wasnt approved stating it was purchased through a 3rd party market place (ebay). Looking back at the fine print on the ebay page, it does state this, but I feel like its false advertising. Has anyone else had the same issue with their recent purchase? do I even have any chance with this at all?

moral of the story, probably should have read the fine print….

Cheers.

  • If it was advertised as having that warranty on the Ebay listing itself, then you could have a fair chance at a refund.

Was the ad on eBay or the Powerland website? And

After applying for this, it turns out it wasnt approved

Were you applying for a warranty through Powerland or with Samsung?

    • The ad was on powerlands ebay store, it provided a link through to Betta Electrical for a 5 year warranty redemption on Samsung TV's. Powerland is affiliated with Betta Electrical.

      • Huh. Seems pretty open and shut then. Even if they weren't affiliated, they're not allowed to advertise something they can't supply.

Talk to Powerland and either get them to refund you (unlikely?) or honour the warranty either through Betta or themselves (more likely).

  • Wow… I was looking at buying an AC system from powerland for the warranty, and the visa bonus gift card, using PSLEIGH. I instead found an LG unit from appliance central for cheaper so I went from there. I thought for sure when I was considering the powerland AC it would apply to ebay purchases, thats very deceptive.
