  • What are the Daily T&K charge, vehicle registration recovery fee, administration recovery fee, airport recovery fee?

  • +1

Only 3 days to relocate you car, and I'm supposed to pay you for the privilege!?
    "Generous time allowance" my foot.

    Massive excess I assume?

Do any of your cars have a towbar? Because the only way I see this being worthwhile is for someone moving home.

What are the Daily T&K charge …

Included in the $1 :-), not like prices quoted in the US. They are not quite that bad here!

Optional Damage Cover Products may be purchased

You'd be a total mug to do that. Third-party (ie use your own insurer) excess cover is easy and a fraction of the price.

    • The downside of the third party excess insurance is you need to pay the car rental agency the prescribed excess and then go and claim/hassle the third party insurer. At least with full damage excess waiver from the car rental agency, you can hand back the keys on a burnt out car shell and walk away. :)

      • you can hand back the keys on a burnt out car shell and walk away. :)

And 4 weeks later, your credit card statement shows a charge for topping up the tank.

    • 3 days from Mel to Syd is ages. It's a single day drive.
With 3 days you can do roadtrip via GOR and Snowies.

Is there a link directly to the page that this deal can be used?

    • Not working through mobile browser, works from desktop.

Make sure you take out rental car insurance (1Cover is good) as you may find charges on your credit card for unverified damage.

    • Each location has a data enabled phone that can upload photos and share them to the renter. Just ask them to do it. If they aren't busy, or an arse they should be happy too.
Every single vehicle that comes out of my office has this. It's called transparency. If they can't just take photos yourself before you move or in the yard.

      • That wasn't our experience at OOL. We got done. Luckily we were insured so I didn't fight it. Won't use them again.

Is it possible to see the cars available?

    • Will vary depending on location collected from, and what cars are required to go back by when.

      • Isn’t it only one pick up location, Melb airport?

      • say:

        Pick up
        MELBOURNE AIRPORT
        21/11/2019 - 10:00

        Return
        SYDNEY AIRPORT
        24/11/2019 - 10:00

What category cars are there? - wouldn't really want to do such a long trip in a small car.

Are there automatic cars available? Thank you

    • Yes

      • +1

Ok thanks. How can you choose an automatic car when making the booking? Thank you

        • 1$ deal are specific to certain vehicles only so I doubt there any manuals. Still you can ask upon pickup which car it is.

          • @mountains: I booked one and it gave me a manual car. How do I book an automatic car? I can’t just turn up at the airport and ask for an automatic and then if they don’t have an automatic go back home again. It’s a long way to travel just to see what cars they have. Thank you

            • @OzzyboyBargainHunter: I would advise to call the branch see what you are getting if they have allocated the car few day prior to pickup. If you are not satisfied, you can always cancel anytime before pickup.

              • @mountains: Do you have the number for Melb airport branch? I’ve been trying to call and speak to someone for the past 30 minutes and nobody is answering on the general number that’s listed on online. The phone just rings out. Pretty poor way to run a business.

  • Anything next year?

    • One-Way deals gives company opportunity to relocate the vehicles. So such deals are spontaneous and limited in numbers.

      • I spoke with customer service on the general number and they tried to call Melb airport to ask about cars but they couldn’t get through either (nobody answered the call). Customer Service think that all the cars for relocation are ecomomy class Manual cars but haven’t been able to confirm this with the location
