Cheap Region Free DVD Players?

I need a good, cheap region free dvd. Any recommendations? Preferably under 100.

  • Aldi was selling one for $29. I've seen stock in many stores.

  • Most DVD players are under $100 (and region-free) these days, even for good brands. I think you will be spoilt for choice :)

Thing is with most DVD players that are locked can be unlocked very easily, I bought a $50 Phillips one 2 weeks back and the unlock process was simply eject tray, go to menu, type in a code, choose region (region 0 is region free) and press enter.

I'd recommend the NeonIQ DVD players from oo.com.au or possibly the cheaper option is their eBay store.
    Both are region free …
    - $39 shipped for non-HDMI model
    - $49 shipped for HDMI model

  • Today I think I'd be inclined to get a cheap Blu-Ray player, rather than a cheap DVD player. Not only do you get the Blu-Ray capability in addition to DVD, you often get USB hard disk capability. And the video stage obviously has to be better as well.

If you go DVD player, then $30 should be enough. Blu Ray is possible under the $100 limit.

Obviously most stuff is region free, one way or another.

  • yep oo.com.au sell them for $29 of got one and had no dramas watching other region dvds.

  • I got my ps3 for blu rays. Just need a cheap dvd player to watch dvd i buy from amazon. Cheers!

  • +1. oo sells really decent DvD Players for the price.

  • the Sony S370 was selling for $99 recently. The cool thing with that one is that it tries to upscale the dvds to 720p which for some of my DVDs(cartoon shows) made a spectacular difference. I tried and tested 4 seperate regions and they play very well.
