I'm sure sponsored content and I think also "filtering" bad reviews for certain brands.
I just looked at a blender, the first "review" is sponsored and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place are the same brand as the sponsor.
1st place: 714 reviews and 656 with a 5 star rating. (91%)
2nd place: 269 reviews and 252 with a 5 star rating. (93%)
3rd place: 172 reviews and 161 with a 5 star rating. (93%)

This is true. It basically means you can engage reviewers, but there's still no ability to filter/delete which makes it OK
They charge $$$ to allow businesses to counter negative reviews.
I have to say that productreview seem pretty balanced and don't seem to welcome just negative experiences, so I do trust their feedback more than other sites (NGE).
