Sydney Harbour Bridge e-toll without the tag

Hi guys,

I just got my car last week and ordered my e-toll tag through myrta website (https://myrta.com/etoll/index.html#!/selectTagAccount).

However, I haven't received it yet, and I'm planning to drive through the Harbour Bridge later today.

Not sure what is my best option here?

  • Get an eMU pass https://myrta.com/etoll/index.html#!/personalDetails even if I'm already registered?
  • Wait to receive a toll notice and pay it online? But that might add additional cost?
  • Somehow they will be able to charge my bank account as I'm already registered with my licence plate?
  • Any other option?

Thanks for your help

Cheers.

  • If it's just once, just pay if you get a letter. I say if because it might debit your account if it can match your licence plate if your account is active (but you don't have the tag yet).

    • Yeah, that's why I wasn't sure if I should get eMU pass, don't really want to pay twice.

      Thanks for your help ;).

  • Which direction? Toll is only southbound

    • Both ways actually ;). Going north in the morning but will need to come back.
Avoiding the toll will double my travel time so not really worth it =/.

  • +2

Just take off your license plate. No need to pay.

  • Just drive through and they will charge your account with a $0.55 fee for using the camera detection. I'm quite certain that you'll be able to get the $0.55 refunded if you contact myrta within a reasonable timeframe (1 or 2 weeks).

    • Perfect, thanks, exactly what I wanted to hear ;).
