The infrared LEDs. Useful for seeing inside a dark cabin but not going to be much use for outside the car (just reflections off the glass probably)
To answer my own question though, saw in a YouTube review that can change the IR setting for outside view use.

Both showing $40 discount for me.
Only the second camera has IR, which is for capturing inside your vehicle (i.e for taxi). With the non-IR one the second camera is for capturing out the rear window.
The rear camera on the IR version also has a wider FOV, 160° instead of 140°

I like to record at 60 fps. I read that the front camera can do 60fps but the rear only 30. Can you tell me if you can record 60 on the front while the back does 30 or do they both have to be 30fps? Got a feeling it's the latter unfortunately…
they are 30 fps when both connected (dual) and thats all I tried. It says on description when only front connected it records in 60 fps but I havent tried that yet.
Note: the IR gives quite a purple glare sometimes on daylight when pointed outside, it does not adjust the IR Auto mode properly sometimes.yeah 60fps is superior. less likely to get blurred numberplate and although image will be darker compared to 30fps where there is no light, that can help with light reflecting of numberplates. instead of being blown out you can read
If I was just after a real good front-facing dashcam with these features and the ability to turn off or not display certain information like speed, is there one people recommend?
the a129 overlays speed, coordinates, camera model and date/time on the recorded video. You can turn any one of these on/off. There are bundles/versions of the a129 that don't come with gps or rear camera (these are separate components)
