  • Was there ever any clarity on how expansions work with cross play?

    • From Polygon:

Cross-play — meaning players on PC can play with players on PlayStation 4 or Stadia — and cross-save often go hand-in-hand. But this feature won’t be coming to Destiny 2 alongside cross-save.

However, in an interview with Jason Schreier, Luke Smith and Mark Noseworthy from Bungie’s creative leadership team mentioned cross-play as something they eventually want to see in Destiny 2.

      • Yeh, sorry. Meant cross save. Last I heard the word was essentially 'if you buy it with silver, it follows the account'..

So it means if I buy the expansion for PC, I can't play it on Xbox. Bit of a bummer.

If you buy and DLC or season passes they carry across platforms though.

But yeah if you didn't have a PC or did buy base Shadowkeep you'd need to buy it on Xbox as well for it.

If you link your accounts on Bungie.net progress will save across all platforms, with one platform being the 'main account' across all platforms.

@Ry009: i own forsaken on xbox and i don't have access to it on pc so no you have to buy everything twice

            • @BiG BoY: So long as this is the case, I can't buy DLC for this. Just feels like they're deliberately wasting people's money on purpose.

@Valowick: Yeap I had forsaken on PS4 and had to repurchase it on PC. No regrets going PC tho, everything feels nice and smooth.

            • @BiG BoY: I should have clarified the term 'DLC' in terms of Season pass and not content drops. Assuming you're new to Destiny so my bad and for others new to Destiny.

You don't need to buy Season pass twice though if you did, you wasted your money. No idea why you negged me.

Guys, while Destiny's value can be questioned and I'm not a massive fan of it anymore, I don't know why anyone would expect to get a game free on multiple platforms. You only need to pay for the major content drops across platforms. If you get the season pass WHICH INCLUDES DLC, you only have to pay for it ONCE.

              • @Ry009: i didn't neg u before but i just did to prove it wasn't me

  • Cheers OP Just got it.

  • What’s the go with this. Wasn’t everyone hating on this game like recently? Is this some update that fixes things? Gamers can be weird.

Destiny 2's release was quite bad, but Bungie have been improving on the game with DLCs and content patches. They also changed their monetization model since the game went free-to-play. So yeah, the game isn't bad now.

Like I said in the OP, it's free on Steam, so try it before you knock it.
