PSA - Firefox Screenshots Are Awesome

I use Greenshot at work and it's great, but for certain use cases, I think Firefox's inbuilt screenshot tool is awesome. Because it's inbuilt, you can select individual elements of a webpage! My colleague recently shared this discovery with me.

Any other handy tools people would like to share?

  • Thanks OP…..

Chrome has something similar, but hidden a bit more

Press Ctrl-Shift-P (or Cmd-Shift-P on a Mac).Type the word screenshot. Select the one you want to do.

Or just add an extension to do it for you :)

      CTRL+Shift+P opens my printers?

I do have full page screen capture extension for Chrome. Is there one that can do webpage sections/elements?

I think what @JimmyF is referring to is the Chrome DevTools menu

        1) Ctrl + Shift + I
        2) Ctrl + Shift + P
        3) Type "screenshot" and you'll have a few options available as to differing screenshot types

This is a manual process however

        • Whoops, sorry, missed the first bit, yet Ctrl + Shift + I first, then Ctrl + Shift + P :)

This is a manual process however

It is, but many extensions around to automagic it ;)

  • whats wrong with "snipping tool"?

Did not know this existed. I've been doing it the hard way, cut and paste screenshot to GIMP. cut what I want and new from clipboard…

    Here, have an upvote… :D

    • Greenshot is great too!
