Are these any good? First baby arriving any day now.

I would also be interested to hear people's feedback.

      • We have had the BW3001 for about 18 months, used every day and just ordered a second camera for it. Picture and sound quality has been good, and the clamp/clip on the camera is really useful. We haven't had any out of range issues, but I've seen that reported elsewhere. The battery life could be better. After a few months the camera would last only a few hours so ours is now plugged in most of the time. The receiver unit has better battery life, but we still plug it in overnight. It's fine for us though. The temperature is also a bit off (few degrees too high) but that's manageable.

Can't comment on the above but I highly recommend the Kodak Cherish c525. Main defining features are pan/tilt, BOTH wifi and direct connection, mobile app that works well it has local SD recording. We did lots of research and couldnt find any other monitor that has all these features. Got it through eBay

    • I've had nothing but bad experiences with Uniden product quality. In addition to other products, we had this baby monitor. The two camera version. One camera was on our toddler's cot. Curious hands reached for it and snapped the flimsy plastic ball joint off after a month. After a call to Uniden, not covered under warranty and no spare parts available so that was that for that camera. For a product that is designed to be clipped to a cot, wouldn't you make it robust enough to take some toddler curiosity or at least have spares for the inevitable breakages? Apparently not.

Unless you can keep it away from your child, don't bother. Obviously not a problem while an infant but that won't last long.

    • Got given a Uniden secondhand - tried it and didn't like it. Res wasn't great and the video unit was clunky.
We bought an Arlo Baby instead and haven't looked back. Get it during a Bing Lee or Good GUys Ebay sale and you're on a winner.
Hs Temp, Humidity, Air Quality, buitl in night light, music etc. Arlo App works well for me. I can live view it from anywhere (e.g. im travelling and the bub is at home with the wife). Motion alerts, temp alerts, air quality alerts. I rate it highly.

  • Comment went unpublished as I had a link to AliExpress. But you could use a $30 Yi Camera as a baby monitor. They have great night vision.
