    Outstanding! Thanks OP…

  • So is the max cashback $10, or 50% of $10?

    • Former I believe so buy total of $20 or more

    • If it's the same as last time they did this it's $20 spend for $10 cashback.

Confirmed: got $9ish back on my purchase.

Note that the cashback is on the pre-GST price, so you actually need to spend $22 to get $10 cashback.

        • LOL, thanks for this comment, your timing is impeccable.

I've been entering cashback records into a spreadsheet and just got to my purchase from the last book depository deal. Since it's capped and I got the full $10 I couldn't figure out whether to tick the box to exclude GST from the cashback calculation or not :)

        • TY for this comment! Went through my wishlist and found one at $23. You saved me a dollar :)

Nah I doubt it. Shopback would be a tiny blip on their sales radar - too small to adjust one item for. I just checked the price on 40x books on my want list to choose one for this deal. Roughly a third had gone down by a few cents, most of the rest were the same price, and only one had increased by a few $. It's more likely they sold out, ordered more stock, and their supplier increased their price.

Oh - one thing that might still be happening today… A few years ago I noticed (with Abebooks I think it was) if I opened the same book a few different times, it would jump in price. I didn't buy, came back a couple of days later, and noticed it had gone down again… I was just collecting prices at the time, so doing a lot of: click, click, back, back in the browser… and saw it jump again! So I did a test… I cleared the browser cookies/cache and reset the modem to get a new IP address. Then searched the book title to find the price had fallen again.

        This happens with airfares too!

      • Yes Skyscanner is known for the same thing unfortunately. It's a pita

      • Did you use booko first?

        • I did. But this was back when booko would show a price, but then that price was nowhere to be found except on booko. You'd click on the site it listed, and the book would be more expensive, not available, shipping had not been counted, etc.

  • Still haven't received Cashback from last promo. Any ideas how to get in touch with staff @dealbot?

    • Which promo? I only just got mine confirmed two days ago for the promotion on 10th September.

      • same mine just approved before this one

        • I just got confirmed $10 from the last promo this morning

I'm still waiting for cash back from 4 months ago. Would love to know how to get in touch with customer service.

  • Cool, picked up Stephen Fry's Mythos as 'one of those books I'd been thinking of getting for the physical copy'.

        :/

  • +2

    fark sake
didnt track and bulls*** generic rejected email

Upon receiving the updates from Book Depository, your Missing Cashback claim for Order ID BDU-XXXXXXX was rejected because your order was not attributed to ShopBack.
While you have made a purchase on Book Depository via the ShopBack platform, the following scenarios may have disrupted the trackability of your transaction:

    1. Using promo codes that are not eligible for cashback
    2. Opening of web pages (including search sites, social media, store sites, promotional/discount sites) or web browsers after clicking through ShopBack
    3. Clicking through to another page from a banner or an advertisement on the store’s website whilst shopping"

I did none of these things. clicked through, made order, job done..

of course its the higher cash back ones that dont track.. lower $ book depository order previously tracked fine (same process)

    Did anyones $10 track?

    • Yep. But only got $9.72 for a $21.33 book, so presume you needed to spend $22 for a GST inclusive purchase to qualify for the whole rebate.

    • As a follow up to this, gotyourback suggested sending an email for a reassessment.
Looks like they've re opened it.
