Recommendations for a Good Chianti?

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a good Chianti for my friend as a gift but have no idea.

Could you please recommend a good one at about $100?

Did you check out one of the large retailers, such as Dan Murphys?
Most Chiantis are much lower priced than that, so choose one of the more expensive bottles.

Or a few of the raffia-wrapped bottles; they make good candle holders.

A friend of mine studied wine in italy for a couple of years - his tip with italian wine was the more basic/generic the label the better the wine
