  • Nice bargain

  • This is hard to resist.

    • waiting for appliance central ebay to price match. less delivery fee for NSW.

      • do they normal price match?

        • They dont match price but usually they will lower the price to match videopro.

  • does it has google play store?

    • I think this is not Android TV so no Play Store, but does offer limited apps

    • These TVs come with VIDAA U3.0 which is a non-Android OS but do have apps like Netflix, Stan, Youtube, Plex, etc. Since these TVs are non-Android, you don't get the same kind of app updates that you do with an Android TV so you don't know how many years the apps will work. So you have to take that into consideration. I just use a dedicated Android TV box like Nvidia Shield or Xiaomi Mi Box S.

$673.60 pick up from Appliance Central if you're in Sydney (Villawood). I actually just ordered the 55R5 from them for only $438.40.

    • Thank you bought a set, another xmas gift off the list.

    • Damn, pulled the trigger with Videopro this morning. Could have saved 1.5 week of extra shipping time..

      • Even cheaper now that they matched VP: $654.40 pick up! You can still cancel if it hasn't shipped yet.

Funnily enough they relisted the 55r5 at a higher price after I picked it up today!

  • I ordered this earlier this week for 40 bucks more :( oh well. I have the 65p7 and it's a ripper. The 55 should be even better

  • Just waiting for same price on 65" r8!

  • Doesn’t ship to SA -___-

Anyone with a bit more technical knowledge know if this TV would be good for gaming? Upgraded my PS4 to a Pro a few months ago but still don't have a 4K TV yet.

Depends what you value. Since its a random TV brand who has 50 different models in every country (exaggerating a bit) it makes it difficult to assess and compare against the more established brands. However from what I can tell, it is only 8 bit, edge lit, HDMI 2.0. Meaning it will not have the best colours or HDR of a more expensive TV. You may be able to fix the colours if you calibrate it properly, but that won't fix the HDR.

Furthermore it doesn't have variable refresh rate (e.g. GSync or variable sync), and the input lag is undefined (no one has systematically reviewed this random model) - so who knows how good it is for gaming, at least from unbiased perspective.

All that being said, it's probably the best you can get in Australia at this price range, and you'd likely be happy with the upgrade if you haven't used a better 4k TV before.

      • Thanks for that, I appreciate the info!

Yeah unfortunately Hisense has now gone the TCL route of offering MUCH better TV's in the states compared to here. Very disappointing.

        • Had a good look at one of these on the shops yesterday and have to agree - nothing special, particularly compared to the slightly more expensive Samsung R8000 and LG’s

  • The 2019 RG model with Android OS is more expensive for some reason.
