Thanks, but Bunnings is rip-off.looking for something cheap and reliable online shop or wholesale shop.

      • What is the exact part you want and what do you think a reasonable price is?

        • I am after tempering valve, pressure limiting valve, non return valve and relief valve so total 4. At Bunnings this would be around $250.. online shops around $150 …what I am after if someone can recommend reliable online shop or local wholesale shop…!

          • @SydBoy: So what's wrong with the online shop that sells them for $150 then?

            • @Presence: Nothing wrong, never used them and also they are in Melbourne so can't pick up. Looking for something in Sydney..so I can pick up.

          • @SydBoy: Why don't you just tell us the websites where you have found these cheap valves and maybe someone can advise if they are reputable or not.

I’d have thought someone who knows so much about bunnings prices vs trade prices would have known how to google “plumbing supply store near me”

  • Ace Gutters Pty Ltd Showroom
    69 Boundary Rd

These guys have always been far and away much cheaper than bunnings. I replaced our over pressure valve (or whatever) on the hot water heater here for about $30-40 dollars I think. Take your part in with you and they can sell you a replacement one wholesale price.

plumber charging $150 for one valve supply and install.

That is parts plus labour. How much do you think you’ll save by DIY?

I get the impression they're not looking to DIY but rather buy a cheap valve, hand it to the plumber and say "now install it for $10".

I'd bet at a minimum half that $150 will be labour, more likely 2/3.

    • Around $100 for four valve…so worth looking ! Currently plumber charging$150 for one valve but if I supply he can fit that within his hourly rate.

      • So you're confident that you can find a plumber to install a part they didn't source and guarantee its ongoing operation?

More power to you. If I was a plumber though, you'd be identifed as a likely problem client (wanting cheap install, but being pedantic about quality).

        Good luck.

        • I will be using RMC (reliance) valve…which is standard quality plumbing valve. I have same installed currently on my old system for last 10 years without a trouble.

        • Plenty of plumbers / trades will fit customer supplied parts and will warrant their workmanship (but not the part). The client wears the cost of R&R if the part fails and requires warranty.

      • Within the hourly rate. Lol. I am guessing you havent used a plumber much..

    Good luck mega champ.

  • Ace Gutters are great. i bought tapware, spare parts and water diverters for my guttering from them when I lived in the area.

I've also had good service and prices from Reece and Tradelink

  • There are two warehouse in Melbourne highly competitive in price, shipping cost from Melbourne kills the bargain. So just looking for something similar in Sydney….

  • 7 Days Plumbing And Bathroom Supplies, Croydon Park

I recall they had a section of their store that just had plumbing parts - suggest calling first to confirm availability/price of the parts you require

    1. Google plumbing supplies near me
    2. Ring each and get a price
    3. Profit.

Maybe come back here and tell us which was cheap.

    • Already did that and as I said above there two good warehouse in Melbourne sell product at really good price but couldn't find anything in Sydney…! So looking for some advice about Sydney !
