Dyson V10 Absolute+ $699, V10 Animal $599 Delivered + Delivery (Free with Kogan First) @ Kogan

600

Got an email from Kogan to say they've dropped their prices on Dyson V10s again! Cheapest I have seen for the absolute in the last month or so, although it was $720 direct from Dyson with a free Dok a while ago.

  • Is the Dok worthwhile? someone mentioned that Dyson might not be getting the V10 absolute back in again so no other places seem to have them

    • I’ve heard people say that a few of the accessories that come with the dok are double ups that come with the absolute anyway. For me at least the dok that comes in the box will be sufficient. I think the extra dok is only worth it if you want to mount it on the floor rather than the wall.

      • I don't think the normal model comes with any type of dok, it says it comes with a tool bag.

        • +1

it comes with a wall mountable charging station.

If you don't want to drill holes in your plaster, this Dok is better. It looks nice and comes with 5 tools, some of which are duplicates but you can keep it as a spare.

    • why wouldn't dyson bring back the v10 absolute anymore? it's one of their high end models, not a v6 or v7

      • +1

        V11 is essentially a replacement

  • This is much better than 8? was looking for a 8 I am able to manage get a V8 animal around 400 and V10 animal around 500 worth's it?

    • the design has the cyclone in the same direction as the wand as opposed to perpendicular. This is meant to improve airflow. The tank is also bigger.

      I think it's worth it.

    • +1

I've been asking the same question, and I think the consencus is that the V10 was a HUGE improvement over the V8. The V11 compared to the V10 isn't much of an upgrade, by comparison. I think the extra $100 will be worth it

      • Will there ever be a V model with 12 or 13 cylinders, are Dyson just goign to keep making better and better ones or what.

    • Can I ask where you are able to get a V8 Animal for $400 please?

      • +1

I had some discount gift cards

    • If you have carpet, yes. Or a big house (bigger battery). Otherwise no. I went from v8 to v10.

      • Have 50% carpet at home, maybe I will go v10

        • You will need the agitating carpet head. Soft roller is inferior on carpet. Yes it's a huge diff.

IIRC Base models don't include the carpet head.

          • +1

@justtoreply: So does the absolute+ come with agitating carpet head?

            • @nudy: Inclusions vary between models even if both are "absolute +" etc etc so you gotta be careful to check the product page. I hate this crap, too easy to get it wrong (eg: Looking at the product page it seems it's actually the soft roller that isn't always included) so you'll need to check for yourselves.

PS: I honestly don't know how dyson can sell this without both soft roller and agitating carpet head. Everyone has hard floors somewhere.. this thing isn't fit for purpose if it doesn't come with the soft roller. Obviously you're not going to scratch tiles by not having it, but what else are you going to use?

              • @justtoreply: You just use the carpet head on the hard floors. I don't grab the soft roller head pretty much at all anymore. I'd use it on wood floors but definitely not required for tile.

                • @zductiv: I've found the carpet head flicks stuff around too much when used on a hard floor. It takes too long chasing stuff that keeps getting away from you. Soft roller head doesn't do that.

V11 has auto sensing and may not have the same issue.

            • @nudy: Yes. Listed as Direct Drive Cleaner Head

              • @zductiv: Thanks, appreciate your help!

  • I got the v10 from the last Dyson special. It is absolutely amazing. I have a household with 2 hair shedding dogs and this thing is powerful even on the lowest setting. I have an older(ancient) model I upgraded from dc45! I love the change! I also notice not as much hair gets stuck in the tool as it would in the old model.

    • good to know thanks. How long does it last for roughly?

      • +1

I haven't used it till it drained. Vaccumed three bedrooms with carpets and lounge room easily with only one bar on the battery setting used. Supposed to last 60mins on the lowest setting.

      • Same as above, also bought this from last deal n loving it.My four(small) bedroom and lobby are with carpet and i was surprised the amount of dust it removed in 2 times I cleaned. I used mixed speed and it cleaned the whole house and lasted for around 30-35mins. It may be because I used the max speed of around 50% of the time I cleaned the carpets. I dont think i need to use max anymore since its all cleaned and normal speed will do the job.

  • was $629 for the animal with the dok the other week via Dyson.

  • Does the Dok pack include the roller brush?

    • No

    • +1

Soft roller brush only comes with the absolute+, and can't be purchased separately in Aus

      • I see thanks appreciate it!

  • OP I think you meant to say ' I got an email from Kogan'..?
    Anyway, thanks for sharing :)

    • thanks, fixed

Why do people love Dyson so much? I think it's the most overrated product. Miele bagged vacs are much much more hygienic. Heaps of excellent offers on David Jones on Miele.

    • +3

Can't beat the ease of not having to have it plugged into the wall while vacuuming and lugging it from room to room

      • How quick are you in closing the lid of the red bin after emptying the contents of the Dyson?

    • +2

      Cordless, handhold

      • +2

I have a 3 story house and looking forward to not lugging around the ducted vacumn pipe. Such a pain

    • +1

For the wife, and having a crawling baby, she vacuums daily. It's convenience, suction and time saving vs other brands. Have heard reliability is not great statistically.

Used our v6 till it died a few weeks back, but claimed full refund on HN extended warranty. Original buy was with Amex cash back, so technically I got paid $50 to use a vac for 6 years.

V10 animal deal 3 weeks ago was about $480 odd after shopback and eBay match (see comments in past post). Machine arrived DOA but dyson sent a new battery, body and filter so I have spares if any issues in future.

Retail salespeople say dyson is better than LG equivalent. Didn't check meile.

      • Agree with convenience bit. However, you gotta try Miele once to experience the difference. The bag really catches 99.999% and dumping it in the bin is completely dust-plume free and super hygienic. Emptying a bagless vac on even a mildly windy day can be a nightmare (I used one for a few years).

    • We have a Miele and Dyson at home, the Miele is just there collecting dust most of the time, occasionally we use it when raw suction is needed (e.g. sliding door tracks). Can’t beat the convenience of a handheld.

  • Do these have the 24 months warranty from Dyson Australia? or is it that we have to send back to Kogan. Would rather have local warranty for the extra cost

    • It's au stock and Kogan is official partner of Dyson so I guess it is same

  • Can I flash LineageOS on this?

  • Here's a question, anyone know if the V10 will fit in the V11 DOK (https://shop.dyson.com.au/accessories/dyson-v11-dok-969944-0…)? I can see it says "For use with Dyson V11", but the charger socket is on the same side of both models, and surely the charging specs are the same …

  • i feel like the v10 animal plus some tool fits all my needs.(cheaper than absolute+) as there is not many place selling this model, i guess kogan is the cheapest place to go at this time. thanks for suggestions above.
Wondering if kogan's extend cover worths it? 3 year for 99

  • This is tempting i have the v6 absolute and this probably makes the v6 look like a kids toy

  • Does anyone know if i can reuse any of my v6 attachments with this, like the car kits etc?

  • So. Freaking. Tempted. Was already going to go with V8 Animal but $130 more for the V10 ?!! I just hate KOGAN… also I could wait for Boxing Day sales…

    • Woahhh
I feel like there's a story to be told with how much you hate Kogan?

  • damn, i used the code kogan sent me to get 10% off, however i haven't notice it won't allow me to use gift card. so now i spent 539 from my cc, and still have 470 credit in my kogan account. sad black friday

kogan won't give one second to cancel order, so now if i want to cancel, they may just give me another 539 credit, make my account over 1000.
