Beem It - Missing Fund Transfer

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone have had issue with transfering money from one bank account to another using Beem It?

I did a transfer between my two Visa debit via Beem It. The sending account (NAB) showed the funds as being successfully sent but it hasn't appeared on the receiving account (HSBC).

A few phone calls with the below outcomes.

Beem It confirmed that the transaction showed as successful.

HSBC said there's no pending transaction.

NAB said transaction showed funds has been sent (they've already deducted the funds off my bank balance)

It has worked in the past so not sure what went wrong this time.

Will steer clear from Beem It after this.

    HSBC

Maybe that's the problem? (from prior experience with that bank)

Beem It does not "send" fund, but rather use refund facility on the receiving end to put the fund through. Maybe it's just not showing up on HSBC?

    • Thanks for the info, I'll contact HSBC again for them to investigate.

      • Did you sort this? Similar issue

        • Yeah finally sorted it. Took 2 weeks but Beem It credited me the missing funds after I raised it with them.

Funnily enough I also raised issue with my bank and they did a charge back and credited the same amount. As soon as that happened Beem It debited the funds they paid me which is fair enough. I didn't want to gain anything just wanted my missing money back.

          • @duckieboy: I had another issue with HSBC. It may happen to other banks account too. It seems some banks put 1 cent pending (and release it later) on your account when you make a Beem-It transfer to it.

In other words, if your HSBC acount is zero balance, you can not Beem-It any money onto it (coz HSBC can not charge 1 cent as pending). It may also be the cause of your missing fund.

  • I'd steer clear of Beem It. Seems a bit redundant when all relevant banks have PayID/Osko now.

        "relevant"

        :)

      • Also HSBC mentioned by OP. Pretty sure OP was trying to get 2% cashback from a upcoming purchase by doing this.

    • Disagree - this allows you at a glance to see who owes you money and how much. Great for social sports teams.

      • Well that's a very specific thing you've raised. Hardly the basis for supporting Beem it as a whole.

Paypal group sending and receiving is free, quicker and easier, allows you to see who owes you money and how much, and doesn't require anyone to install an app on their phone to send you money.
