Help Buying a New Wood Lathe (Carbatec or Sherwood?)

Hey woodworkers,

I'm upgrading my tin-box Ryobi wood lathe (and by upgrading I mean part of the steal literally snapped under load)

I've narrowed down a few options, hoping anyone could advise on any of these of others I should consider

Timbecon - Sherwood Mini Lathe: https://www.timbecon.com.au/450-x-300mm-mini-woodlathe-manua…
Carbatec: Economy Mini Lathe: https://www.carbatec.com.au/mini-lathe-economy-old-code-mc10…
Variable Speed Sherwood: https://www.timbecon.com.au/450-x-300mm-mini-woodlathe-elect…

Any advice much appreciated,

Cheers!

Have you checked out Hare & Forbes https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/W385. Seems like a good unit though it's been over 2 decades since I've used a wood lathe.

Depends what you're turning on it… Personally I'd look for something a little bigger and check Gumtree/Facebook Marketplace as lathes come up reasonably often and tend to be kept in reasonable condition too as the people who use them have a passion, rather than tradies who have to use them for every day work.
