    Don’t use the Banks. Depending on the amount you are better off using an FX Transfer company. Examples include:

    Do your research to find out which one is best for you. There may be referral bonuses listed on here somewhere.

      Transfer wise also better than ofx but slowly fee gouging over the years..that hifx can't even see a rate without signing up

    For small amounts I’d use transferwise, for larger amounts ofx has better service and I’d say more secure.

    when I tried doing that last time, I started to see a genuine use for crytocurrency. We used paypal but the fees/coversion are pretty bad.
    The 3 companies that others mentioned are probably the way to go

    If the destination has a valid bank account a cheque drawn in such currency might be an alternative.

    It used to be the case with USD using ANZ as the drawer. It might be different now.

    Western Union are pretty great bank to bank now. They use POLI and don't charge any fees for it. The exchange rate was also pretty close to the real rate at the time. I have only transferred a few hundred each time but the limit has just been increased to $50,000.
