I purchased one of these for my mum on Friday for $130 which was supposedly a good deal. The price has dropped even further to $104.99. Amazon were happy to refund the difference to me. I have never used one of these, but I have read some good things. Price is all time low as far as I know, so thought I would share. It is only available in the white colour at that price. The black one is a lot more expensive.

I've just realised this price drop is due to matching chemist warehouse sale so some may prefer to purchase from there (online only) as the shipping is also free as it is above $50. They also have the black colour for the cheap price. Not sure if that warrants a separate post. I will put the link below.

  • How did you get the price difference refunded out of interest? Just asked on chat?

  • +3

Yeh, went on chat and explained the situation. It was already about to ship so they couldn't change the payment amount that was going to be charged (may have already been charged, I didn't check). So they said I will receive the difference refunded within 2-10 days after it ships.

They've always been very helpful on chat with stuff like this.

    • Hmm, Not sure they are always helpful. I also purchased @ $130, and contacted Amazon Chat…. Refund for price drop not possible, they will charge a $7 fee for return … they say to refuse delivery and reorder….

      Chat log.

10:42 AM AEDT ??????: I see that there is a deal going on and we wouldn't be able to match the price dropped during the limited time deal.

10:43 AM AEDT ????????: Since the item isn't delivered yet,
You can refuse the parcel at the delivery,
and once the item is returned to us, you will be refunded.

10:45 AM AEDT ???????????????: You may place the order now to avail the deal price, as we wouldn't be able to offer post order price drop refunds.

10:48 AM AEDT ME: Sorry, you can't refund the difference? This seems funny since will that there will cost to Amazon for the return. Does Amazon not have a price guarantee?

10:49 AM AEDT ????????: We have a preorder price guarantee for the new releases.
However, there isn't any post order price drop refunds.

10:50 AM AEDT ????????? : And if customer returns an item due to price difference, there would be a $7.00 return shipping fee charged.

    • When a price dropped the day after I'd bought something (sold by Amazon US) and there was no option to cancel even though it hadn't shipped I rang them to ask about it. They eventually agreed to give me Amazon credit for the difference in price but they were fairly reluctant to do it. It was repeated to me several times that they don't have any policy of refunding for price drops.

  • Missed the $87 deal for the black portable version, and chemist warehouse have it on sale for $99.. Hopefully Amazon match that today also! (12% vs 1% cashback)

    • That's what I was originally going to buy also. Then I had read some reviews saying how quickly it runs out and you will need to fill it several times each clean (not sure if people were exaggerating). It was hard to decide as the one with the seperate tank takes up more space. But the one with the separate tank is much smaller to hold in your hand, the actual cleaning thing.

      • I have the previous portable (white) version, and I’ve never had any problems.
Fill the small tank up before each floss and it easily lasts enough to do every tooth and then some.
Battery never had an issue, used several times without a recharge. Weight and bulk are fine, it only takes about a min to do all teeth, and it weighs nothing.

Only reason I was looking to buy again (newer model) was for the old man who’s got teeth issues, hates flossing, yet has to floss every day.

I had a feeling when reading those reviews it was people overreacting. Ah well. Mum should be happy with this one anyways. Hopefully it's not too big and bulky with the tank setup.

Chemistwarehouse is the old model. WP450

The Amazon 84 dollar deal was the WP560/EP562.

But if you have the space and powerpoint, the plug in one would be better anyways.

      • I just don’t see how? (Who has “the space” in their bathroom lol - I’ve never seen a bathroom that has excess space for something as big as the base station model.. and like I mentioned, the portable version works perfectly. Other than the inconvenience of either plugging in, or magnetic charging, I can’t see why someone would opt for that big monstrosity!

But you’re right about the older model.

Higher maximum water pressure, finer pressure control. The NiMh battery probably only have 500 cycles lifetime like similar batteries, so once the two year warranty is up, so is the machine. Keep in mind, this is much higher power drain device vs the toothbrushes, so it will cycle even faster and die quicker.

Yeh I'm a bit worried about the size too. My mums bathroom has a window sill next to the sink and a power point right there too, so hoping that it will just sit on that. If not, I could put a small shelf in the corner of the room easy enough, right next to the sink also.

The battery life of the portable one was another reason I went for the big one.

      • Wp-560 is back at $84 lightning deal right now

  • Anyone has this unit and can comment on its reliability? I read the reviews on Amazon and some people say the unit stop working after 3 months.

The chemist warehouse link did not mention the warranty period as well so I m a bit concern.

    • I don't have this exact unit, I have a very similar model. It's been going strong for approx 8-10 months. No issues whatsoever with mine.

It is worth keeping an eye out for these at Costco, they have one like this, with a travel one, as a pair. I got them for, roughly, $90 on sale. They are often found around the $100 when on sale. We had a long vanity installed when we had our place built. Room for lots of stuff including electric toothbrush, this, fan heater and the odd wandering cat.

  • Bought a couple of battery powered ones on ebay for around $30 each and am very happy with them. Since my teeth are a disaster it makes a mess so I use it in the shower where battery use is perfect. My mains powered one is going into the bin.

The one at CW is WP-100, which comes with 6 heads (5 of them are useless though :-)

    • +2

Yeah, chemist warehouse doesn't sell this model, the one they're selling is just the 'ultra' not the 'ultra professional'.

This model has been slightly cheaper before though, it was $99.99 during the prime day sales.

      • So which one is better?? Surely the ultra professional one! I mean, it's professional. Lol.

  • Should have held off for this one

    • Buy this, send the other back? Or you got from chemist warehouse?

  • +1

Aaaand sales already gone (even though chemist warehouse remains) maybe someone pointed out to them that they are not the same models :(

  • +2

Any dentist here to comment this is actually good for flossing. My dentist said it is useless compare to manual flossing.

  • +2

Only black ones left at $153. :(

  • yep, gone, was going to buy later

  • +2
