According to their newsletter, Clearly Contacts is offering 4 coupon codes for the month of August. The offers are as follows:

  • AUAU12 - 12% off (New Customers Only)
  • AUFRAMES - 20% off eyeglasses(New Customers only, certain frames excluded)
  • AUAU10 - $10 off ($99 min. purchase)
  • AUAUFS - Free Shipping ($99 min. purchase)

Shipping is normally $9.99.

The last time I looked early this year, they did not offer a way for Australian shoppers to claim from their health funds. It looks like this has been rectified?

They are also running a promotion on their front page - 1 pair of glasses for $38 or 3 pairs for $99 with coupon code 3GLASSES99.

You can also get 12% commission back from MoneyBackCo.

Now if only I hadn't just bought a year's supply of contact lenses earlier this year and used up my health fund limit…

  • Last time I did ( 1 month ago ) the Health Care didnt accept. Don't get fooled

Note that individual policies differ, it is important to confirm with your provider that your purchase is eligible for coverage before ordering.

Also my insurance is included in that beautiful list of "Below are some popular private health funds", but still no luck.

When i asked them if they could provide me with a receipt for Australian Health care ….. no answer.

    So, long story short … if you want to claim S T A Y A W A Y F R O M T H I S S H O P !!!!!

    • Fair enough but I think they are cheap. They also fairly regularly run free frames with only postage and extras cost so not claiming is a small thing as your paying $10 for a pair of prescription glasses. Good luck finding a deal like that at Australian and even any other on line retailer.

Exactly right though, if you want to claim go somewhere else.

  • really? i called HBF this morning, dnt think online stores are eligible for coverage

    • I managed to claim from my health fund for a contact lense purchase from another online store - webcontacts. I thought that if theses online companies can provide receipt that contain the item number, it should be ok to claim from your health provider. When I last looked at their website, clearly contacts didn't have that blurb about being able to claim form your health fund, so maybe it's only recent that they started to provide proper receipts that are acceptable to health funds.

issh commented on his experience end of last year here, and has posted the receipt of his contact lens from Clearly Contacts. From the reverse side of the receipt, it appears to contain provider number for some of the private health funds so it might work for those.

Unfortunately I can't find Medibank Private there (the insurance I use). Fortunately I don't need glasses/contact lens :)

I have NIB health insurance and previously was able to claim purchases from Clearly Contacts. However, about 6 months ago NIB sent me a letter stating that they will no longer accept claims from this company.

    • Interesting…did they say why?

      • Can't remember exactly, and the letter didn't give too much detail, I think it said something like "…didn't meet their requirements" for a provider or something to that effect.
