looks to be already sold out at that price

  • Wow that was quick…

  • Can anyone offer any thoughts on how educational LABO is? Was interested to see it was actually introduced into some classrooms in the US.

I think it’s educational in the same way that something like Lego would be, particularly the Lego Technic stuff. It’s an interactive tool that enables kids to build something mechanically functional and then use it with the included games.

Based on my gp's sons experience, it's the best thing ever.

Kids don't get time to imagine anything anymore with constant screens around them.

This helps bridge that gap, and maybe eventually turn the screen off and get into the hard-core hobby stuff when he gets older

On top of what others have said, there is a sort of programming aspects of it. I say sort of because it doesn't actually use programming languages but connecting input to output visually (sorry I don't know the proper term). I would say it is more Lego Mindstorm than Technic but simpler than Mindstorm.

If you are still curious about it, I would highly recommend you to check out videos on Youtube on what others have done.

EDIT: Check out some creative things done with Labo:

It's not educational at all. IT products aimed at education have a very poor record and they appear to be a waste of money in that they don't effect outcomes.

Been used in some Australian schools also https://www.educationmattersmag.com.au/nintendo-launches-new…

From what I've read and seen it has its benefits in introducing kids early to the basics of STEM especially at primary school.

          • @jv: To be fair it was a pricing error/coupon glitch not many could access.

          • +2

@jv: A pricing error that lasted less than half an hour is not the same thing as a sale that was missed.

              @UncleRico:

              less than half an hour

Lots of deals here last less than 30 minutes. You snooze you looze

$291 was a great price for a Switch.. It'll be a while before that is beaten…

The Nintendo LABO Vehicle Kit is $39 as well.

  • Still waiting for the VR kit to go on sale, no good prices for that one yet.

  • Back in stock also, the vechicle version for the same price.

  • Wow, looks really cool and a great price. I just have no time/use for it and my daughter is too young (<1 year) to enjoy this :(
