Cheapest brand new no name 65 inch tv at the moment. Even cheaper than aldi or kogan.

But the name is in the catalogue…

    DGTEC

    • +2

As I recall, DGTEC was the very first consumer HDTV STB in Australia. Most likely only the whored brand name of original company.

Big is not always better with cheap TV's.

    • +3

But on an inch for dollar value, it's pretty good.

    • +3

      that's not what she said

  • +2

    Wouldn't touch it

    • That's also what she said.

      • Good thing I'm a fag then!

        • Plot twist. But Agreed waste of 649 bucks

    • Look only. No touch.

  • +1

Better off paying a bit extra for a decent brand I think.

    • +1

TCL would be a much better option at small percentage more. Plus 3 year warranty out of the box

  • +2

Last week there were at least 2 to be had for $600, including one at JB Hifi, and surely a bit of bargaining would get you back close to that number, below Big W - if one wanted a seriously cheap 65 inch that is.

  • +2

Seems like the larger version of the 55" Kogan TV I bought. Likely the same rebadged manufacturer (leg looks exactly the same). Paid 500 for mine and I think generally its ok. Looks just ok with normal content but great with nature 4k videos. I reckon this would be the same

  • +2

That title still belongs to this

Price has gone up to $609 but still cheapest especially including delivery.

    • +2

      Yeah, great TV for $550!!

    • And 3 year warranty on the Soniq. Does BigW match that?

This is a better choice even if its $50 more https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/ffalcon-65uf1-65-4k-ultra…

    • this was actually $598 for like 1 or 2 days.

      • +1

Yes but at full price it would be my choice. FFalcon is at least made by TCL

        • Yeah I was talking about the FFalcon

It's not plasma, though, so why bother.

    • +1

      lol this comment

      • -3

lol @ your comment. Typical millenial response. You probably don't even know what a plasma is.

        • +2

lol @ your assumptions mate. Plasma is dead technology and everyone knows it. Only proven by all manufacturers dropping it for LED. But I suppose you want something to watch your Betamax tapes on eh boomer?

    • +1

Plasma TVs were only worthwhile if you needed something that also acted as a room heater in cold weather, Tassie and New Zealand etc

  • I'm curious to see who has upvoted this post? The tv is probably bottom of the pack for quality and you certainly can get a better quality one at JB-Hi-fi for a slight increase in price. So my question is, are there people genuinely buying this tv and supporting the post or is bots actually upvoting this bargain?

    • I should amend my comments and say, this is the cheapest 65" tv from a bricks and mortar store. Even the aldi tv @ $799 got hundreds of votes, so im not sure what you are on about.

      • i have had an aldi tv, it had lasted me 5 years. Doubt this tv will even do 3 years. Still bottom of the pack tv and aldi has a great return policy with no questions asked. I'm not sure what your on about trying to compare yourself to aldi.

        • Lol, big w return policy > aldi. You are assuming this tv wont last long. I bet you this tv most probably came out of the same factory as your aldi tv. You are just sore you paid extra cash to aldi hahaha

          • @mrvaluepack: So i'm guessing your the one using the bots to upvote the post. i bought the aldi tv 15 years ago and threw it out 10 years ago. i have a Sony X8500G for my living room, i can't even put this junk tv in my backyard because it would have moisture issues.

            • @Will Mcdonald: Why don't you ask the actual voters why they up voted this?

In terms of return policy, Aldi is 60 days no questions asked. Big W is 90 days change of mind too. But not so sure how lenient they'd be if you used it for almost 3 months and then decided you no longer want it. Specially since it "is still in its original and saleable condition and packaging, with all accessories included".

Anyway, I agree with DannyBoy above, even if the FFalcon is $50 more, it'd still be a better buy than this DGTEC. But really, people should wait until it comes back down to $598 or even the Linsar @ TGG @ $539.10 (was reduced to $599 and then stacked with a 10% discount code).
