  How does one have "healthier" hair when hair is dead ? Isn't this type of stuff just snake oil? I would have thought you could indeed 'coat' the hair with something to make it feel (tactile) better in the hands and to have better optics (looking at it). But apart form that the only way to improve the quality of the (dead) hair over time would be: Health of body (don't get sick); correct nutrition (eat well); get sleep; exercise; have good genes; protect the hair and scalp from environmental and physical damage; low stress; don't age. Be good to your mother and thank your father.

    Long story short, no nothing can help. You can mask/coat damaged hair with silicons and other additives which give s atemproary appearance of health, but ultimately its a lost cause.
