How Do I Pick The Best Dropshipper?

I recently saw an ad on my Facebook for an incredibly gaudy fake wolf fur coat, so naturally I must have it.

I clicked on the ad, and browsed the site for a bit. It seemed pretty dodgy, but as a Facebook ad enthusiast, I've purchased from worse.

Seeing how I wasn't ready yet to buy it, I've left the tab open and decided I'll come back to it over the weekend to finalise my decision.

Since then, Facebook had taken to advertise me the same product (using the exact same photo, with the same model, from the same photoshoot), from a different retailer.

Now I'm assuming that at least one of these sites (potentially both) are either dropshipping, or are attempting to sell counterfeit wares. I don't really mind the former, as I am likely to receive the product as described, but the latter worries me, as the quality might be lower than one would expect from their fake fur coat.

Admittedly, I wouldn't normally be so cautious, but recently I've unknowingly ordered a giant stuffed plush avocado from a counterfeiter, and the result was very subpar.

TL;DR: How do I find the best site to order this product from? How do I find all retailers, and where can I find reviews for them?

  • You're worried about buying a fake fur coat, that's a fake?

    • Well, the material is obviously going to be faux fur, but it's the craftsmanship I'm afraid will be subpar.

      • Then buy from the least fake one.

        • I'm reaching out to the kind forum folks to assist me with coming up with a way to rank them on the fakeness scale.

@itamaram: I've wrestled with this exact problem for a long time, and as far as I can see, there is no way. It's a gamble, pure and simple.

You can tilt the odds a little by reading reviews, but you can't trust the reviewers bias, and you can't even trust that they reviewed the same product. One thing you can probably be sure of, is that the size will be smaller. I normally wear a large, but if I'm ordering from China I will go XL, XXL or even XXXL

        • Wouldn't you want the most fake one?
Stands to reason that if it's more fake, they've make it so fake that it's almost real again? If it's the least fake, it's almost like a different product entirely.

OP should buy both, and a genuine one too, then use Aliexpress like everybody else.

@toristo: If you get double fake, then SURELY that's the ozbargain way !!!

Why get one fake, when for less, you can have twice the fakeness ??

            • @oscargamer: I'll have the double fake burger, extra fake sauce, and a large side of fake fries. Oh and a diet coke.

Sometimes you have to risk it to get the biscuit

Save the photo of the product (or copy the image address), do a google image search and see what other retailers are selling said item. Usually the most popular retailers will rank first in the google image search results. However "most popular" is not necessarily the best buy, so do your research anyway, but searching for the same product image is likely to find other vendors and maybe even the legitimate fake fur maker :)

    • Thanks! I've done exactly that and found out the original retailer! Much appreciated! (Also, turns out a real fake wolf coat is way outside my price range)

      • Lol no worries, that is often my experience too when finding the original
