I’m with you I think it was a lazy effort by youtube just to take some videos from creators and just add them to a video with some music and statistics.
When they deliberately remove pewdiepie out of the rankings to pander to India T-series its a bit rich .
Least he actually made it this year. Bit hard not to mention him.
It was there to summarise the year. I think they did that fine.
I don’t know what it is, but I want the 1 minute and 51seconds I spent watching it back.
YouTube is such a diverse content platform. They can't capture what people like when there's billions of users and a ginormous spectrum of different content.
Next year they should drop the rewind concept and call it zeitgeist. Then they should also give people their own automatically generated highlights package from popular videos they liked, a bit like Facebook does. Or be like spotify and tell people their most watched channels and videos.
YouTube Rewind and youtube company has been going down the gutter since last few years(all those ads), those who keep watching to just to feel like they are part of it, would just be classified as much of a sheep?
Not to get started on the comments section, where the worst of bullying fandriods, racist, hate comments come out like unsupervised babies, lol.
I was OK with it. Felt like they should have had a YouTuber host instead of just text on the screen, but that's fine.
