A new Restaurant Deals aggregator website is coming soon

Hi everyone,

I thought this a good place to announce that our website restaurantdeals.com.au is now listing restaurant deals from Group buy websites such as scoopon, jumponit and dealicious.

The current version of the website is beta and the new design and additional features should be up and running in the next couple of weeks.

With restaurantdeals, deals can be sorted by price, cuisine, restaurant name and location. We thought having this type of filters is significant to facilitate searching for the right deal, venue and price.

We would love the ozbargains community to visit the site and give us some feedback and suggestions. And don't forget to subscribe to the daily email newsletter and like our facebook fan page :)

Don't start offering crap listings like allthedeals. They used to be great, but now you have to wade through crappy merchandise deals.

    • Hey, no we won't.. we realised that and we are going to make it a better way to find restaurant deals..
      thanks

      • I think one thing you might find is that limiting it to restauarnts will put some people off. I buy a lot of beauty deals, so if they aren't on your website, I'm not going there.

    • I agree. I used to like ATD but I find their site horrible now. By the time I'm done getting through all the international/interstate hotels, I get sick of the site and leave.

      • Fair enough.. so which aggregator is your favorite at the moment? there are quite a few but none are good enough to me..

      • This is what we're working on at Buyii at the moment. An entire page separate for product deals only, and another separate for travel deals only.

        • Nice… looking forward to seeing the new changes..

        • Perhaps also implement a drop-down filter? - so you can filter the deals based on your categories.

All the deals has gone to the dogs with the crappy merchandise deals. I can't even work out how to get rid of them. They are intermingled with group buy deals so if I eliminate a whole category, I risk missing a GB deal I might be interested in.

        • @ Zhenjie .. Funny! That's exactly what we are working on! Race you :-)

    • Hey Voteoften .. thanks for your feedback.

Agree that mixing the product and group buy deals wasn't the best idea!

We will be going back to having separate pages soon.

In the meantime you can remove the products listing by unticking the "daily deals" check box

  • i'd love your site, i mainly look for food ones.
i think it'll be great if you could also include food offer from shopping docket sites.
i never know when they have new deals.

    • I will add that to my TODO list.. thanks for the suggestion :)

  • Maybe you have a second section for other than restaurants. But, please, for heaven's sake, leave the rubbish merchandise offers out. They are absolute crap. Crap they wouldn't even try to sell on COTD.

    • We would consider adding more categories if the site name wasn't restaurantdeals… we might create another site for other popular categories and link to it from restaurantdeals….
Our aim is to offer great service for users, daily deal sites and restaurants..

My 2 cents feedback, I think most of us would like to browse quickly without wasting time, please put the suburb after the restaurant's name; unless of course it is a national chain with multiple outlets. It is highly unlikely people are going to travel extensively for a deal if they don't live/work anywhere close to the deal, which is really common sense but many group deals fail to mention it without having you reading a whole lot of crap to find out.

    • Thanks for that.. that's a very good point.. there will also be a location dropdown filter at the top.. it will basically display all locations of the available deals…. the user can easily check the filter for nearby deals…

    • Living Social puts things that are way the hell south into the Perth North category and also the other way around. I's a bit insulting they don;t know our town well enough.

  • will you have an RSS feed?

    • We will defiantly have one per city.. thanks

  • Cool, I like the concept.

  • Your sydney site has links to places in perth.
Also it's lists restaurants twice, and is missing links to spreets

I use all the deals because they have all the deals (on one page)

I think I am going to switch to buyii. ATD has too much crap rubbish merchandise. It is disrespectful of its users putting those in.

      • BuyII is good but they don't have Cudo or a couple of other providers. I guess none of the sites are perfect at the moment!

        • I also think that some of their deals were expired the other day.

Deals get refreshed every 30 minutes at restaurantdeals.com.au to get the most accurate figures….

    • Thanks hussey… is issue is being fixed….
I use allthedeals too to check other type of deals..

      • Good to hear!

      • keep the fixes coming. I now use your site 90% as I am mainly interested in restaurant deals (like u I will take a look at ATD every now and then).

Please just keep yours to restaurant deals. thanks.

        • Thank you :)
Please let me know if you notice anything weird… also, if you interested, I can show you the new design to give me some feedback.. just email me on [email protected]

  • I finally got around to checking out your site. For Perth there are two food/drink deals and three identical beauty deals listed. There are heaps more available than that!

      Perth NEEDS MORE love!
Just checked, only 3 deals and the first 2 are repeating =D

I will visit your site more often then, as I am only interested in food deals =)

Perth needs more love. Hell, I need more love.

But there are a lot more food deals out there than are on this sire.

This is the problem. Whay use an aggregator when they can't be trusted to have all the deals?

        • We are adding new websites almost every week…. some sites don't have XML feeds or their feeds are missing some required details….

  • Keen to hear your thoughts on http://thedealer.com.au also

  • Guys, we rolled out the new design of Restaurant Deals.. feel free to check it out and give us some feedback..

  • Are the side bar just ads?

There is currently an ouffer deal for Adelaide not showing on your aggregator.
"Today's Ouffer: $29 for Three Courses of Indian Cuisine for Two "

Pity, I was trusting restaurantdeals to show me all the dining offers. :(

    • Thanks for that.. it's now been included :)

I am losing confidence in restaurant deals in having all the food deals, I see only 2 deals today both from jigocity, it doesn't seem right. I know scoop on has cupcake deals today, shouldn't that be included?

  • Thanks for letting us know cloudy.. the issue has been resolved.. a couple of provider feeds were stuck.. all good now.
And pls keep using the site and give us your feedback at all times :)

Hey guys, we have just released mobile apps for both iPhone and Android. see this post for more details http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/60105

  • @restaurantdeals, just had a look at your site and noticed that the top two deals for Sydney are showing mismatched images.

    Both are Groupon deals.
The text for 'Spice I am' is showing an image for Asti restaurant.
The text for 'Greekalicious' is showing an image for J-Ten restaurant.

  • Restaurantdeals, I have a feedback for you. If you can deliver on this, it would be awesome and 5 star to you guys.
I would like to see a feature where you can select to receive all deals via email which are xx km away from particular post code, you may choose a particular type of food Lebanese, Italian, etc if you want and also within particular price range if you want.
Can you implement this? currently I have to check couple of suburbs nearby my location to see if any deal is there.

  • Hi amsaini15 and thanks for your feedback. What you've suggested is actually currently being developed and should be released in a couple of weeks.
It would also be good if you give us a feedback on our iPhone app. thanks

  • Sites now dead. It wasn't showing any new deals for a few months.
    Sad, it had promise.

  • hey robinsoa, it's not dead.. we continually add new deals to the major cities.. which city are you checking?
