Should I Get a LED Computer Monitor?

I just want to ask you if i should upgrade to a led computer monitor. I currently have a HP 19 inch lcd computer. Does a led monitor look considerably better than a lcd one and which one would you recommended

    considerably better.

Not really. You'll see a lot more improvement moving from a TN panel to a IPS panel LCD. LED is just a lighting technology — probably gives more consistent backlit and uses less energy, but I doubt there's much improvement over picture quality, if the same panel is used.

As scotty says, you'll see a vast improvement by going to an improved technology screen with an IPS panel, (if you're willing to stump the extra $200 or more). IPS has better colour performance and viewing angle than TN.

    To elaborate on scotty's comments:
Think of the LCD as a light filter. You wont see any colour until you shine a backlight through the LCD panel. LCD doesn't actually generate light itself.
As such, LED TV's and monitors still use an LCD screen, it's just that LED is an LCD backlit with LED's instead of a fluorescent tube.

There are a few benefits of LED:
    1) reducing mercury (which is the gas used in Fluorescent tubes/bulbs)
    2) reducing energy usage (LED's are more efficient at producing light
    3) reducing weight as there is no glass required for the tube
    4) some LED technology can improve contrast by dimming/turning off the backlight in dark areas of the screen, called "Local Dimming", but it's more of a TV feature and even then you pay a huge price premium! I don't think you'll find a Local Dimming LED monitor unless you spend big dollars.
