Hide Expired Deals

I know this has been touched on slightly by other suggestions, but I'd like the option to have 'expired' deals automatically collapse or hide so they aren't eye catching.

The obvious reason being that if you see the deal then catch that it's expired you gain and loose hope rather quickly, not a fun feeling.

Also if you are searching through deals by tag, there's no real purpose in seeing all the past deals.

The only time where 'expired' is relevant is if you purchased the relevant item and you wish to discuss with the other people who also did. (This makes perfect sense, so don't hide the posts that have been voted positively by the user.)

So in summary, I don't think it's effective to 'show' so many expired deals, especially on the front page, and I'd love an option to hide them easily.

  • Either it can be collapse or tuck away from people who havent viewed.

I thought maybe also coloured expired (red?) so people can instantly tell it is expired or different.

  • +1

    There is

i.e. To find past prices of that product

True and this is very important for feedback

    • Yeah, but 99% of the deals are expired, I want the active deals to either be separable or rise to the top in most views.

I think what most people are saying about making the expired deals clearly 'red' is probably the best way to go, or to collapse them.

  • "I thought maybe also coloured expired (red?)"
What about gray ? and make it so that the first word becomes expired same with the top deals and new deals on the right hand side

  • I've created a GreaseMonkey script for firefox that hides the expired nodes. It can also put a border around them instead if you so desire. http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/112429
