[Unobtainable] Fairy Platinum Plus Tablets 45 Pack Half Price $17.50 ($8.58 With Coupon) @ Woolworths

Moved to Forum: Original Link

This week Woolworths has the Fairy Platinum Plus Dishwasher Tablets half price ($17.50 down from $35). But if you stack the attached coupon the price comes down to $8.58 (75% savings)

They ran the same promotion a few weeks ago and the coupon worked well hopefully they haven't changed the system to not accept the coupon.

Notes
I created a high resolution scanning coupon that should work, attached

You can only buy one packet per coupon - so you'll need to perform multiple independent scans of the coupon after scanning the product if you're buying more than one.
If you're buying a bunch of them the Self-Serve checkouts would be the most low profile option

I did try online last time and it would not accept the coupon code

  • so we can scan this coupon via the self service check out?

    • +1

I needed some assistance and enter coupon code manually

    • Yes!

    • Yes, can just download the image I attached and scan it from your phone

      • take the high res photo
        max brightness on your phone
        scan bag
scan coupon, it should register on the right side of the screen about the discount
        scan another bag
        scan coupon again…
rinse repeat until you have enough bags bought

  • Just scan the barcode provided or print it and scan that .

  • Worked a treat last time. I still use ALDI tabs though. Yet to unpacket these from the last deal.

    • Are the ALDI tabs Fairy Brand or another brand?

      • Nah, Aldi are their own in house brand. They are solid. Rated #3 on performance and cost per wash according to some paid survey. I think these end up been about 5c per wash more but are 'better'. Either way you cant go wrong.

    • I was happily using the top range Aldi tablets for years until I noticed around 2 months ago that my dishes started coming out dirty or with filthy residue. I cleaned the dishwasher thoroughly (though we always keep it clean anyway), I even disassembled it thinking that maybe there are rice grains or similar covering the holes in the sprinklers. Nothing helped… Until I got the Fairy Platinum about 10 days ago. Wow, I was so relieved. Our dishes are sparkling clean again and they feel so 'crisp'.

Not sure if was just a one off batch of the Aldi tablets or if they changed their formula but I am not going back.

        Is this a paid advertisement?

        • +2

I wish! Although now that I read my post again it actually comes across like this LOL. Not intentional at all. A real life experience. I used to tell my family members off for using the more expensive tablets always backing up the Aldi product!

          • @polstralian: Haha, I'm gonna give the ALDI ones a go when my batch of these run out ;)

      • That's been my experience with the Aldi tabs as well. Unfortunately I've got about a years supply to get through. I'll still give the Fairy ones a go to see if it's an improvement.

        • When did you notice that the tablets no longer work as well? I believe they have changed the formula at some point recently.

          • @polstralian: Probably in the last 2 or 3 months, although the box was unopened for a couple of months before that. It has a particularly hard time with avocado.

Literally the same experience for me too. The Aldi top of the range ones stopped impressing me ages ago, not that they really ever did, and I'm just burning thru them now to get rid of them, and two weeks ago when I bought these Fairy ones on this original cheap deal, I used one out of curiosity, and the difference is astounding. Everything's so clean it squeaks. Just using Aldi for cheap dunny paper now - lol the perfect metaphor! :-D

  • I put three packets through self-checkout last time individually with the high-res coupon on my phone. Scanned fine but I'm sure the attendant thought it was weird I was scanning and paying for one at a time.

I haven't used them yet but I always use the regular Fairy Platinum and am yet to find anything that beats it.

You shouldn't need to do them as separate transaction you just scan the coupon after scanning the item every time.

  • +1

As pointed out previously, can just have a single transaction at self check-out but scan the coupon multiple times.

    • Yep, found that out afterwards…

  • I put 4 through on the same transaction using self service and the high-res bar-code scan on my phone and it worked OK - a few weeks ago this was

  • 19c per wash.

These, or 'normal' Finish tablets that sometimes go for 17c per wash?

    • Thewe. 100%

  • When does this start ?

    • +1

      Tomorrow (Wednesday 11th)

  • I still haven't used the 180 i bought last time.
Will try to limit myself to buying just 1 or 2 packets.

  • +1

I use Aldi powder, what am I missing out on?

    • +2

An adorable tablet with three coloured petals.

      • Also great to squeeze on. Just don't let kids go anywhere near them and burst the wrapping

  • I get the feeling this won't end well..

  • i recently used the aldi tabs and the fairy or finish IMO provide a better clean and finish I even noticed the insides of the dishwasher looked cleaner after going back to finish (this is in my 10 y.o smeg FWIW)

  • Bought two packs of these at self service last time with the actual coupon.

  • Thoughts on performance? Have seen mixed reviews for these

  • Are the Platinum Plus actually any better over the Platinum? The 100 pack Platinum are $35 this week (17.5c per wash vs 19c with coupon)

(PS barcode generated here if any trouble with the OPs)

    • +1

Just tried. It would only discount $13.06 instead of $17.50. Tried on seperate machines and same issue…

  • +2

We always have used finish Powerball ultimate tablets because the fairy ones just didn't work well.
But have just redone the kitchen and put in a new Asko dishwasher and they are both working just as well but these are the fairy platinum Plus not the cheap fairy tablets.

I think a lot of it comes down to the dishwasher as well but since the last special on these with the coupon I've only used fairy and the dishes have come out like new.

  • I just use the cheapest and make sure I get most of the crud off before it goes in, works for me. Still too expensive for soap

  • Last time. WW Hornsby were sold out of 45. So I tried with 100 tabs and didn’t reduce the price.
Any point trying again in Hornsby with 45s?

    • Nah, I doubt a truck has made a delivery and restocked the store yet.

    • I meant the barcode didn’t work with the 100s.

      • And I tried today with 45s and didn’t work either.

  • Good deal for great tablets.

    The best IMO.

The biggest question is who the hell is paying $35 for 45 tablets?

  • +3

Just tried this morning and the voucher didn't work for me. I tried with both the Platinum Plus 45 pack and 16 pack. It just added another item worth $0.01.

    • +3

      Ditto.

      Doesn't work

Deal expired, I even had the manager try and manually process it. No Dice.

      • I also had an employee try to manually process it. Didn't work.

    • Thanks for the post. Else I would have wasted time going there

    • Agreed. DOES NOT WORK in Adelaide

  • Tried at Woolworth Rundle mall, but they don't sell the 45 pack, every other place seems to sell them.

  • +1

Well this turned out to be a disappointing kerfuffle about nothing.

  • +1

Yeah, well that was a total bust.

  • Well that sucks the coupon definitely is valid till the 30th of the 6th 2020.

Woolworths must have picked up their error last time and blocks the barcode. :-(

It does say not valid on specials but it definitely worked last time.

The coupon will work on full priced items to make them half price on any of the fairy range though.

    • It didn’t work for me with 100tabs few weeks ago, even though they were full price.
