Portable Monitor for Nintendo Switch

Am trying to find a good portable monitor to use when travelling with the Switch. Maybe 13/14/15" minimum, with a HDMI input of course.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Isn’t the point of the switch that it Already has a screen for use on the road?

Hah yes I realise this, and should've made mention in my original post. I mean, a bigger screen than what the Switch has. For example if my wife and I want to play some games together it'd be easier just to grab the portable screen and lie on bed and play them looking at the small Switch screen.
      Hope that makes sense.

      • For the cost involved, you may as well have a TV in the bedroom!

  • Using a screen… means it'll be docked? If you're also pairing it with a powerbank, make sure it won't brick the Switch in docked mode because a docked Switch uses a very funky/proprietary charging power profile.

For long travel stints, I take along a C-FORCE CF-011 along with a RetroN S64 dock and ROMOSS 26800mAh USB-C PD power bank. Product links below:

The combo works well with both my Switch and Thinkpad Carbon.

If I'm also travelling with my PS4, I usually take my GAEMS Vanguard (ref https://gaemspge.com/black-edition-vanguard.html) and leave the portable monitor at home. The monitor in it works perfectly with the Switch. Of course, this is NOT suitable for use on a plane ;-)

    Hope that helps.

Pleasure. Remember, pick the right USB-C monitor and no need for the dock ;-)

        • Ok, is the dock you mentioned then optional? Like will the screen itself be enough plugged straight from the Switch?

          • @octeau: Correct. Just remember, it will only screen mirror over the USB-C connection…not fully docked performance.

    • Out of curiousity.. why can’t you use it on a plane?

      • Have you used a GAEMS G190 or Vanguard? They are HUGE and the monitor needs mains power. Unless you were in a first class or a more-spacious-than-average business class, it would be a horrible experience to attempt to use one.

        • Never used one - I see, makes perfect sense.
