Was just thinking about trying to learn how to complete one recently, Thanks!

    • +2

The cube comes with the instructions on how to solve :)

      • +1

does it involve a hair dryer or heat gun?

        • +3

          Hammer. Solves most things.

        • +3

Once you're familiar with the algorithm it's not that difficult to solve.

        • cynicalmike

          :)

        • Sharpie

    • +3

These things suck for actually solving quickly and smoothly. Get something like https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B00R1NANC4/ instead.

      • Okay thanks, I'll cancel and order that one

  • +1

Get it as soon as 24 - 30 December when you choose Priority International Delivery at checkout.

This cube is good to just play around with but if you want to get fast then you should get a MoFang Jiaoshi Meilong or a Qiyi Sail for $7. You'll thank me later

    • Ok can you post a link

    • Yeah I have a few of those china made ones, much easier to twist than the official one and you can get different "smoothness".

      • -3

        there's also wd40

        • +1

Terrible choice, WD40 is not a lubricant. It'll just gum everything up, you should be using a dry graphite powder same as you use for locks. They run about $10 from Bunnings.

haha i just found this, and rubik's cubes are covered!

          https://lifehacker.com/when-should-i-not-use-wd-40-5891936

Serious cubers will lube their cubes with Jigaloo, CRC silicone, or even vaseline. They will point and laugh at noobs who use WD-40, which contains petroleum distillates (paint thinner) that can melt and seize a cube. Crazy, I know, but noobs keep doing it.

@cynicalmike: vaseline and CRC silicone are both petroleum based too and are just as bad for the plastic as WD40. serious cubers use silicone oil, e.g. RC truck differential oil

so many negs over comical comments. i'm guessing some serious 'cubers'. probably need to get a life.

    • Thanks for the recommendation. Based on the description on that site the Qiyi is more durable than the MoFang. Does anyone know if this is true? Trying to decide which one to get (for a kid, so there aren't too many considerations besides the fact that I saw him drop his cube five times today).

      • +1

If you're worried about durability I'd make sure to get a stickerless one, such as this: https://www.speedcube.com.au/collections/regular-cubes-2x2-3…
as then you won't have to worry about the stickers coming off.

Edit: also if you're worried about the cube itself breaking if it's being dropped onto carpet I can't imagine it would have any trouble but onto a wooden floor you may get cracking

  • +2

Yeah I also wouldn't recommend getting one of these. Best to look for a Chinese branded one which will be a straight-up better cube

    • +1

      does it have band28?

  • +1

So… how do I get the difference back from amazon?

  • +1
