CPU Cooler for Ryzen 3600

So I am looking at my CPU temps and in this ridiculous heat I'm looking at 50+ Idle and around 67-70 load. Although not outrageous I wouldn't mind bringing the temps down by replacing the stock Wraith Stealth cooler.

The case is a 220T So I've only got 160mm to play with so my options are basically the below - I don't want to go down the AIO path because I don't think a radiator is going to fit in the front with my GPU and the 220T seems to have issues with AIO radiators up the top and clearance

  1. Coolermaster Hyper 212 RGB Black $65.00
  2. Noctua NH-U12S Chromax - Probably looking at 135+ or something so a bit pricey
  3. Be Quiet - Dark Rock 4 Cooler $99 plus shipping - The slim seems a bit too tall for the case
  4. Cryorig H7 - $65 plus shipping

What is your suggestion? I would love the Noctua, but is it really worth almost double of the others?

    snowman from ali

    • That terrifies me :P Although I'd probably use it if I was just making a cheapo budget build.

    • Ive been using an AIGO AIO cooler from ali for almost 2 years now. No problems at all, nice and cool

I have the R7 3700x and it's keeping quite cool with the $45 dollar Thermaltake Contac Silent 12
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Thermaltake-Contac-Silent-Support-…

on sale on Amazon for $40. normally 45. The tower measures in at 6″ (153 mm) high and 5″ 127 mm wide.

  • I have one of those cheap and cheerful ones from Gammaxx. It was the 300, I believe.

Idles at 30°-34°. I don't hear it either.

As an anecdote, I used to have a $25 Thermaltake Contac 21 on a FX6300 and it too idled at 30°-35°

I found that perfectly reasonable performance for gear that was a fraction of the price of the dearer stuff.

  • Noctua non-chromax is just $90 on amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/Noctua-NH-U12S-Multi-Socket-Cooler…

    • I did see that, but I'm picky and the Brown/Beige just makes my eyes water :P

  • Corsair Hydro Series 120mm single tank. I'm running this on a HTPC no issue, wont be a problem with a 220T. Mount on rear exhaust port so dumps heat directly outside case. Will bring CPU and GPU temps down
