  • What room size would the stage 4 do?

  • This or xiaomi pro? Xiaomi pro is so much cheaper though. Is its price justified?

  • Would this be useful for making an iso 7/6 cleanroom in terms of the ppm of airborne particles?

    • At highest speed these models push out roughly a maximum of 5-6 air changes per hour (ACH) in a 30m2 room with standard ceilings of 2.4m (72m3) so it depends on the volume of your room.

According to some info I found, ISO 7 requires a minimum of 30 ACH and ISO 6 requires minimum of 90 ACH
Also a note from the author stating:

“The above-suggested air changes per hour are only a design rule of thumb. They should be computed by an HVAC cleanroom expert, as many aspects must be taken into consideration, such as the size of the room, the number of people in the room, the equipment in the room, the processes involved, the heat gain, etc.”

Personally, I'd be looking at ducted products certified for clean rooms and similar applications. Would also consider a setup that could create a positive pressurised room depending if the room could be sealed properly.

      • Thanks, missed that. Annoying thing with setting up a clan room is the costs and consultation costs are ridiculous.

    • Is this to run the bikie drug den:)

  • Who are these purifiers recommended for? I don't quite get it. Do they just filter dust in the air?

    • Also smoke, cooking and other odour, pollen…

    • Some filter pollen, smoke, odors etc. It depends on the filter stages. People with respiratory problems/asthma/hayfever find them useful, but with all the smoke in NSW at the moment I've been looking for one for the house.

Choice hasn't done a air purifier comparison as far as I know.

The wirecutter has a comparison https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-air-purifier/ but some models not available in Australia

    • Neurotics, mostly. I have one, but really only until I upgrade to something better.

  • I'm looking for a purifier that can filter dust + pollen (to stop hayfever symptoms).

Is this bad boy too much or should be better to look at the Stage 4?

    • I'm in the same position and am getting this (if nothing comes up with a faster delivery time).

Even for people like us, I imagine stage 5 would still have benefits over stage 4.

  • Missed out :(…trying my luck here, anyone ordered but doesn't want it anymore?

  • Amazon has cancelled my order as they can't source the item.

"Our supplier has informed us that this item is no longer available. This item has now been cancelled from your order"

I still need an air purifier. I am in Canberra and the smoke from the bush fires is awful.

  • Order cancelled as vendor cannot source supply.

Pretty sure this was being fulfilled by ausclimate (winix aus). Oddly enough their website has a sale on this model.. $625 ea, bought as a pair. Tidy markup (which is fine) but dirty tactic if my suspicion is correct.
