Virgin Australia Velocity Family Pooling

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows how many times you can switch your family pooling on Velocity. I am currently pooling with my partner but my sister is doing an international flight in a few months and wanted to get her SC's.

Has anyone tried changing their family pool a couple of times in the year?

Thanks!

What do the T&Cs say? I'd double check those.. if you arent under the same roof, could be trouble.

  • There's a limit and also the pooling person needs to be in the same address as yourself.

note that you could be breaching the T&C so good luck ;)

  • You would need to read the Ts & Cs as there are limits on how many (and how often) beneficiary and contributing accounts can be linked/nominated in a calendar year. However, as the previous two posters have said, your sister has to be living at the same residential address as you for the pooling to be valid. Velocity keep a close eye on family pooling these days, so changing your sister's address to yours isn't a good idea (assuming she doesn't live with you) as you risk having your Velocity accounts terminated and forfeiting all points and status credits.

Its listed in the T&C, don't be lazy and read for yourself.

Look into it you may be able to just transfer rather than pool.

    • @try2bhelpful Transfer is for points, not status credits

  • I did read the T&C's but it doesn't have number of times…. Her sisters address is the same as ours… but I was wondering if they would have a limit.

    • If its not in the T&Cs, why wouldn't you ask Velocity for confirmation instead of here. We have access to the same T&Cs as you.

  • A member can only contribute to one beneficiary at a time, but may have up to 2 beneficiaries in any calendar year.

(From the main info page on Velocity website)

  • I have rearranged our velocity family pools at least twice this year without issue. Everyone is living at the same address.
