Best Way for Baggages from Asia to Australia?

Dad currently visiting relo's in Cambodia. They have packed pressies and dried foodstuffs to bring back to Oz.
He will be returning to family-friends in Syd few nights first, before coming back to Mel.

How can we get those baggages quick to Vic? (Normally packages would travel with traveller route, but since some perishables we'd prefer it directly to Melb if possible and not too exxy). Cambodia being quite a 'corrupt' country idk if that will complicate things much at the Capital airport, to Singapore I believe then Aust.

Can the baggage be straight to our address or a nearby post office.? Anybody have experience with this and costs?

  • Unless we are talking Kampot pepper it's probably going to cost more to transport it to Vic than the stuff is worth, and also risk confiscation.

You could also pay someone to take it directly to Melbourne…
In a boogey board or headphones.

    • Oh, that's what they mean by "dried food stuffs"! I'm so slow

      • It's tradition to bring various dried fish from over there. Never seized after checked by border security either.. Cheers

  • Be careful about the foodstuffs, particularly perishables. Check with the import restrictions to see what you can, legally, send here. Our quarantine laws are strict, for good reason.

    • Yes it shouldn't be a problem thanks done it many times before

Check them in as baggage. You can handle it at customs on the spot. If they allow them then post/courier them from Sydney.

  • Just pack them in a boogie board bag. She'll be right.
